Would anybody know how I can get a woven object, see pic, like this? I know I can do a boolean op to punch the holes. but how would I get the effect of it being woven, short of postwork? Is it possible in Bryce or would I need to go to a modeling prog?...any thoughts appreciated...

a good texture, with appropriate bump and transparency map will satisfy your needing and will save a lot of memory in your PC.

Yep. Create a mask, turn the white areas blask, set Blend transparency. And you're set. :-)

you could also do it using a grey-scale picture in the terrain editor... like AgentSmith was doing with the gate in the thread at the link. That, with the texture vasquez and erlik talked about would give you a nice result.

This texture is not mine I downloaded it from Infinity Textures. http://www.i-tex.de, it may come in handy because there's no holes on it. It's posted as free pack II.

I'll check it out, ttops. Thank you all for the input...ummm, I was thinking of actually modeling it, so if you were to put stuff in it, you'd see it thru the weave (holes), it's based on an outdoor stone wall decoration, the kind that sit on the pillars with planted greenery...

I saw a tutorial for something along these lines at www.3dmodelworld.com under tutorials. It was done with terrains. Hope this helps. :-)
