Subject: MAX to POSER trouble

I have created armor for my poser figure in Max. On some of the armor like the boots and gloves,I Mirrored it as a copy instead of recreating from scratch to fit the other hand and foot. I export it as a 3DS file and when I open it up in Max it alright, but when I import it into Poser the left boot and glove is "facing" the wrong way. Its the exact copy of the right boot and glove and i cant make it fit the left side. The Xscale is reversed to put it plainly. Has anybody encountered this kinda problem?

the normal of the object is also mirroed when you mirror the object. It don't shows wrong in max , but it will happen in poser. I think you can don't need to export the normal when export since poser don't need this informations. or I did a stupid way, invert the normal of the object that way creat by mirror, so it appear in wrong way in MAX but in the right way in poser. I think there will be some better way.

Max automatically mirrors the objects when the file is loaded into it, but when poser loads it, it keeps the original settings... Try converting each mirrored piece into an editable mesh so it will lose the "mirror" function.. hope it works.. been a long time since I moved things to Poser from Max

Thnx for the info Tricertops: You suggest making a mirror of the mirrored object? Hmm.. I didnt think of that. I'll try that tonight. Macsen: I have opened the 3DS files in max and tried converting them to meshes and editable polygons, sometimes both. Still imports the wrong way in poser. I did notice that the scale on the object is all -100 on the xyz plane. Thnx for your both your input.

Found an obj. exporter plugin from Habware that fixed the problem and cutdown on a few steps. Thanx for the help guys. (or girls)
