I know for a fact that a Mike and Vicky CD WAS in the store and was removed last week,NOT by Daz.The fact I said Mike2 and Vicky2 was probably an error on my part. And believe me April dear,I am not a chicken, nor littlelolno offense taken or intended,I think you're funny too. Now,since I cleared up the fact the Cds were not Mike and Vicky2 but Mike and Vicky reg cds,Why did Render remove them?Daz didn't.I asked them.
daz said they didn't remove v1 and m1 cds from here but they're not to be found? hmm. and i just saw they are still at 3dcommune. hmm. 8| yeah, i think the chicken little thing is from the capital letters in the topics. fun effect heh heh :) just watch for annoyed people cos supposedly caps lock is "shouting" on the net. don't ask me, i didn't make the rules. ;) i have posted with caps lock on before though... heehee

I seem to remember the DAZ newsletter some months back saying they were reducing the price on those to clear out the stock and they weren't going to make any more copies after that.

If you promise not to tell anyone... Vicky and Mike were pulled from the store because DAZ is ready to release their "killer app" that will put Poser to shame. (They claim it's still "in development", but this is only to throw people off the trail so we don't start begging them and cause them to release a buggy program just to keep up quiet.) In fact, their product, code-named "PosaPerson", will also include a "Dream Products" section (basically a working "Content Paradise"). This will be the only place where you can purchase DAZ prodocts, including, Vicky, Mike, and their upcoming super-real figures, code-named "Barbie" and "Ken" (note: due to obvious legal reasons, these names will be changed in the final product). They will also be releasing a super-realistic soldier-type male figure, code-named "Joe". There will be a new models in the "Dream Products" line, including a house and a car. I probably shouldn't mention this, but there is also gossip, rumor, speculation, and heresay that DAZ will be buying Renderosity. But, you didn't hear that from me, and the powers-that-be will deny it all day long. I can't offer any proof of this because, if they knew I had it, they would hunt me down (or worse, ban me!).
heyas; i'll own your soul, crescent. as long as i can trade it for some good deals.... okay, here's THE conspiracy theory! the m1 and v1 cds were removed cuz.... um, okay, because they are old. because nobody buys them any more because they buy m2 and v2. and um... oh i know! they had a 'sell by' date on them, and now the m1 and v1 cds are stale.
You know, I've been sitting here trying to come up with a theory as to why those products might've been pulled and they are... 1.) DAZ Pulled them...: Maybe getting ready for the release of Victoria 3, they didn't want to support a product several years old and that has been upgraded twice. Perhaps they are planning on releasing a Victoria/Michael 2 CD package to put in their place. 2.) Renderosity removed them...: If this is the case, then I see some bad mojo coming as a result of this. Considering that a majority of content sold in Rosity's marketplace is based off of DAZ Geometery or products. If Renderosity did remove those products, just what kind of message are they trying to send to DAZ or what is the meaning behind such action?? One might be willing to think as I do... and please remember this is only my opinion here: Renderosity becomes partnered with CL in the form of Content Paradise... or even perhaps even closer partnered than that by way of becoming a CL owned website (hence the Beta Test forum only being housed here on Renderosity by Curious Labs and not at any other website also the sheer volume of DAZ's software vs P5 threads or P5 complaint threads being moved or burried). There is no secret as far as the relationship between Curious Labs and DAZ and lack of any support offered to Poser 5 from DAZ. In that case, since this place has become a CL partner, one could see DAZ's involvement in Renderosity's store (and the program that they are working on) as a Competitor to Curious Labs/Renderosity. Futhermore, having once been a Merchant here myself, a Merchant in the Renderosity Store entitles that Broker to have access to the hidden Vendor/Merchant forum. By removing DAZ from any brokerage in Rosity's store, removes their ability to visit that forum any longer which may be the staging area for Content Paradise and the partnership with CL. Remove DAZ from it, DAZ is then kept in the dark regarding any move Renderosity decides to make in relation to Content Paradise and solid Partnership with CL. Now, if that is the case and DAZ hadn't pulled their own product, one would have to venture a guess as to 1.) Who is next to be removed... 2.) Just what is being discussed between CL and the owners of Renderosity and why haven't we, as a Community, been included (at least in some part)in this... 3.) What would DAZ's response to this be? Considering that the majority of product for sale in Rosity's marketplace is based off of DAZ related products, I don't really see TPB at Renderosity being stupid enough to remove DAZ's involvement from their online store and risk DAZ saying something like: "Okay, if you don't want our support and see us as competition, then remove the support of our products from your store." That would surely kill Renderosity and Content Paradise even before it opened. No, I think DAZ probably removed their store products themselves. I could be wrong (I hope not) but I guess we wont know unless DAZ comes in and tells us they removed them themselves or otherwise. Jack
Jack, Artist3D and others. We don't want to be kicking the behive here in any way, but feel that it is important to mention that we did not pull our products from the Marketplace. We had the Victoria and Michael CD's here because we felt it would be more convenient for some customers to be able to purchase them in one order (along with the other great Victoria and Michael related products sold here). We would love to have the new Victoria 2 and Michael 2 CD's available here if we could. Sincerely, Dan Farr
I wonder. As Mike and Vickie are competing models for Curious Labs' new family of dorkier and dorkette, does this move by Renderosity enforce the EULA statement against competing with Poser 5. Is this mile marker for brokering with a Curious Labs controlled Renderosity store? Have we just seen the first indication that Renderosity is not and has no intention of maintaining it's own seperate and free market and identity? Is this the first example of Poser 5 non-competition enforcement? Who's going to be the next vendor to have their products pulled from the store?
If the CD's weren't selling, shouldn't they have gone to the "Wharehouse" and Daz been sent a "Your product has been wharehoused for lack of sales in x period" like any other merchant?
"I am a good person now and it feels... well, pretty much the same as I felt before (except that the headaches have gone away now that I'm not wearing control top pantyhose on my head anymore)"
If it was M1 and V1 then perhaps it wasn't selling and it went to the Warehouse but the warehouse was opted out? It's possible it was that simple - but then again I also doubt that CL would want to further DAZ by having people use the Content parasite (released and still not working - what is up with that???) to buy Mike and Vicki...

Hmmm... this got moved... of all places to here. Wouldn't this move have been better made to the Store Contact forum rather than the News Forum... ... although, come to think of it, I think it would make some INTERESTING NEWS to find out why Renderosity removed DAZ's products, since it wasn't DAZ who removed them... So why were they removed???? Jack
Because Daz are very very bad people who are attempting to take over the world with Mike and Vickie models and reduce ALL of poserdom to rendering vickie's in a temple with a sword and Mike in a whatever with a Big chopper and Renderosity is now attempting to do the honourable thing and save the world so heavily threatened by the utter evil and mind control subliminals included in the Vickie mesh by removing it from the clutches of desperate content seekers. (pause for breath) This isn't a conspiracy it's a fight of good against evil and it's been proven time and time again that Vickie and Mike are ultimately evil and their existence and in their ability to infect computers and poser users worldwide is legendary. It is time to stand up and fight for the whole of mankind and make the evil Vickie and Mike mind control devices disappear from the very face of the planet. Don't believe me? Follow them from their start to today. When they arrived people said they were ugly and malformed. Yet the virii inherent in the meshes had already invaded some minds and people purchased them claiming they were not ugly at all but it was poser camera and poor textures which had created the ugliness of the initial sightings. The virus was spread through renders and content until thousands of people had suffered the infection and had purchased them. Then came version 2 of the virus and the infection spread to epidemic proportions resulting in even more naked vickie's in temples and even more mikes with big choppers and poserdom rocked in agony as the virus ate into the brains of the users and watchers. Soon the Evil Empire of Daz announced it's next terrible attack against mankind. VERSION 3!!!!! It was too much. The entity known as Renderosity, shining white knight of all the poser users, was unable to sit quiet any longer and allow this invasion of minds and computers around the world and has taken steps to cull the virus from our minds and our computers and our poor suffering copies of Poser and have removed the initial insidious and terrible mind control devices known as Vickie 1 and Mike 1. Thereby reducing exposure of the virus to new members and future members and helping to begin the withdrawal of reliance from those previously infected. Realising the threat of VERSION 3 of the virus what else could they do. Perhaps it is too late, perhaps they have acted in time. Only time will tell. Tune in next week as we explore the continuing battle against the evil of Mike and Vickie and the nekkid temples and big choppers. Will the evil empire of Daz strike back? Will DanFarr the martial master of mind control be able to deliver his evil content. Will mankind survive? Or are we all DOOMED!!!! same channel, same episode, same time, same world... Be there or be infected.

You have got to be kidding, that's not possible, it has a life all of it's own. :)
"They were the older versions of Vicky and Mike." Does that mean that they were pulled because they were older? Or because they weren't selling anymore? I don't expect an answer (not my business) - but the ramifications are scary from a vendor point of view considering DAZ didn't seem to know anything about it....

{They were the older versions of Vicky and Mike} So, they were removed because they were "older"? What's next? Deleting members because they are "too old"? How old is "too old"? Will everyone over the age of 30 be deleted? Will we get a red mark that turns black on our 30th birthday? My, god, when will this insidious plot end?
I personally don't care about the DAZ equation in this - I care if they are deleting products without notifying the merchants because I am one (at least for a while longer) and merchants are supposed to be notified of deletions.

Why were the Daz Michael2 and Vicky2 CDS Pulled from the Store?
