Since the thread was locked while I was gone I felt it best to place this here - I'm sure an admin will lock it. But you posted to me in this forum and so I will respond to you here. "P.S.- For those of you playing the Home Game out there. I will now get an emmotional reply from Lady calling me all kinds of names and telling me how evil I am. ;-) " It's blatantly obvious that you know nothing about me at all. I very rarely get emotional regarding anything online and certainly never over a trite little comment like that. I do however tend to look at things logically - so your belief that I want to hear that I am the best moderator is quite wrong. Nor do I believe that my way is the only way - that is utterly ridiculous - and I'm quite sure you know it. You can't be so ignorant as to believe that was the point of my comment regarding others who had been moderators. Ironbear, Questor and yes even I have been moderators. The point I was making was that if anyone understood that it was time consuming to moderate there were many who understood that. But since I could find that many "off-topic" threads in the first 29 (and in less than 10 minutes)then it seemed obvious the forum is not for learning posts only. I also expect moderators here to behave as respectfully as they wish to be treated - I did not see that happening in that thread. I don't think you are evil - that's giving you far more power than agreeable puppies usually garner. Maybe you are simply ignorant (I consider naivete to be when someone truly doesn't see something - ignorance is when one sees it and ignores it), maybe not. But hey should you feel a need to aim potshots at me - feel free, I'm no wilting violet, but the next time you try to do that - try to base it on some of my real faults, I'll happily provide you with a list of them since you obviously don't know me well enough. I simply expect people to make sense and back-up what they say, often times it appears that many people would find that to be a fault - but I can give you better ones than that - so you'll be better prepared next time. :-D

Sorry you got locked out on the previous thread. That wasn't fair. You didn't get a chance to reply. Feeling better now? Anything else you want to tell me? C'mon...Let me have it! ;-) ScottA

i went back to the old locked thread....because the "tagging issue" confuses me, as well. spike gave an address to email tammy. i tried. i have concerns about what is going on here, of late. this is the path. since the thread is locked, if spike gave the incorrect email....could someone give me the correct one? here it is: Return-Path: Received: (qmail 29468 invoked by uid 0); 26 Oct 2002 00:37:39 -0000 Received: from machiavelli.synacor.com (10.10.6.30) by mailrelay1.synacor.com with SMTP; 26 Oct 2002 00:37:39 -0000 Received: (qmail 32338 invoked by uid 99); 26 Oct 2002 00:37:39 -0000 Date: 26 Oct 2002 00:37:39 -0000 Message-ID: 20021026003739.32337.qmail@machiavelli.synacor.com From: "Poppi" To: admin@renderosity.com, UNEXPECTED_DATA_AFTER_ADDRESS@.SYNTAX-ERRORX-Originating-IP: [63.212.188.237] Subject: TaggingContent-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"

Hi Poppi. What are you doing here? This thread is for Lady to get me back for what I did to her earlier. I think Spike said to send an e-mail to: admin@renderosity.com And just put ATTN TAMMY in the Subject field. As long as you're here. You wanna spank my BuM BuM too? It's free and it's very cathardic (sp?). ;-) ScottA

3-DArena ( ) posted Fri, 25 October 2002 at 9:02 PM

hey Poppi - where ya been? Scott it wasn't to get back at you (what a tiny mind you have). But if you are going to imply I'm a shrinking Violet I feel it only fair to rid you of the delusions and to offer to supply you with real ammunition. So what's wrong Scott - you feel secure attempting to give out insults (attempted because I'm not actually insulted - I spent 4 years with a small abusive man and your manner in that post actually reminded me of some his "moments") but a bit unhaoppy being caled on it? I think you just felt left out that JeffH was getting all the attention and no one noticed you to complain about anymore and as you are no longer a mod you weren't being included. :-P~~~ But we all know that if you were a mod you would have jumped right in making the same types of comments, so don't feel bad - we weren't ignoring you darlin' just didn't think to include you.

ScottA...that's what i did. that's why i'm here. i wanted the link. From: "Poppi" To: admin@renderosity.com, LadySM....I've been working alot, and using rhino in my free time. i try and read the threads of interest, here, lately, but am not as vocal, anymore. thanks, ib. for a change, i am going to do it the correct way, and im an admin about my queries and concerns...and just sending to:admin@renderosity.com is obviously not working.

Ironbear ( ) posted Sat, 26 October 2002 at 6:57 AM

Np Poppi. ;] Always helpful to check the "The Team' page, and see if they have a personally addy listed - it's sometimes faster to get through than just "admin@renderosity.com" or "towhomitmayconcern@bondware.com" ;] Most of em have their personal addies, what they do, etc there. And all else fails, there's site mail off of their member name. That will go to whatever they have listed as an email in their profile, so if it's something @hotmail.com, they may not always see it for awhile.

Poppi ( ) posted Sat, 26 October 2002 at 7:09 AM

thanks, ib. of course, this is probably not going to be a habit with me. just the tagging thing is so unclear, and, they way spike explained it, it seems as if any post that raised emotions could be considered as "tagging", and the writer could be "poofed". so, i want to be really clear on what it is. just in case i EVER post a thread that could be considered controversial. not, that that is likely to happen, right? in the meantime, i better be good and stay in the rhino forum...oops, that might not be an answer, either...i'm pretty passionate about my nurbs, doncha know?

MikeJ ( ) posted Sat, 26 October 2002 at 8:40 AM

Well, I've been out of the fray for a bit now, but........it seems as if any post that raised emotions... yeah, I read a little into the "Tagging" thread, but evidently I missed the point. But superficially it seemed to be some kind of new way of explaining what couldn't be explained without making up some new rule. Anyhow, that was my take on it... basically a cop out. But this "emotions" comment is interesting. Are emotional replies in threads now against the TOS? That would be real interesting to try to implement! And then of course there was that other "Moved Threads" thread. Not the first and certainly not the last. It's terribly obvious that it is 100% untrue that only "learning" threads are allowed to stay. Hell, if that were the case, the OT Forum would no longer be OT, but would be the Poser Reject Forum! Y'all just create entirely too many waves around here, you know. I mean, the ultimate goal is that Renderosity become a very profitable cross between an online Poser/CL fan club, and a distribution center for Poser-related products. I can see why the PTB are unhappy with you guys; all this unhappiness and negativity, and (God forbid!!) opinions floating around, you're gonna ruin the profits! Now, that wouldn't be very nice now, would it? You should all be ashamed of yourselves. Think happy thoughts. Repaet after me: "I love Poser no matter what. I will not find fault with Poser, Curious Labs, or Renderosity. I will not ask moderators to answer questions they are uncomfortable with." There, don't you feel better now? :)

Questor ( ) posted Sat, 26 October 2002 at 10:54 AM

There, don't you feel better now? I'm sorry MikeJ, but no. After reading your post I tried that. I really did. I managed to repeat it three times before gagging, but now I feel distinctly ill. I think I'll go lay down for a while, I have a bad taste in my mouth and a headache. :)

Ironbear ( ) posted Sat, 26 October 2002 at 10:56 AM

hangs head Repeating after mikey: "I love Poser no matter what. I will not find fault with Poser, Curious Labs, or Renderosity. I will not ask moderators to answer questions they are uncomfortable with." Do I feel better now? checks Why no... I feel distinctly nauseous, actually. Was that the way it was supposed to work? ;] Howdy Mike. You having fun yet?

Nauseeous, eh? Well, I have to admit that I was dry heaving over my keyboard as I typed that earlier. But, it was worth a try... Howdy Mike. You having fun yet? Yeah, I am. I haven't had enough controversy in my life lately and I was about to give up on this place as a source for it. Things were a bit too nicey-nice all Summer. I long for the good ol' days. This place used to be like a western US town in the mid 1800's-unruly and dangerous, yet fun and functional all the same. But it's good to see that the attempts to Mr. Rogers-ize the place haven't quite yet succeeded. ;)

Not that I know anything about what's going on, but could someone explain tagging? Cause none of us poor members out here know WHAT THE HELL YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.

Yuri, I didn't want to talk about it, I just wanted to know what it was. I keep hearing complaints about it but didn't have a clue what it was.

Here's what I posted on my understanding of tagging. It got buried in the thread. Hope this helps. ***************** This is my unofficial opinion on it. Trolling is doing things like going through people's galleries and harassing them or posting lots of threads emotionally provocative threads. (I'm not talking Nekkid Vic threads.) It's a first strike sort of deal. Tagging is putting irrelevant, inflamatory remarks in the middle or end of already existing threads. If I went through all the OT threads, regardless of content and posted, "Oh, and Spike sucks!" that would be tagging. (Sorry, Spike, you made for an easy target!) ;-) Personally, I see Trolling as Stalking, while Tagging is like grafitti'ing. Again, just my opinion. I'm not speaking for any one else here on this one. I've been running around, getting stuff done for another forum or I would have wandered in and started opinionating sooner. Cheers!
