This is a sample face, using a 512x512 image. I think the face room does pretty good with a small image :) No post work at all, even though the face need some lines softened.

Is that still the highest res available?

pokeydots ( ) posted Sat, 26 October 2002 at 3:36 AM

I don't really know lol I didn't check! I just was pointing out that you could get a half decent pic with the 512 size. I'll have to check and see :)

To tell the truth, the face room is the only room in p5 i visited only one short time. So everyone has his own preferences. are the wrinkles done in the faceroom ?

pokeydots ( ) posted Sat, 26 October 2002 at 3:51 AM

Some wrinkles were on the guys pic, and then I used the transform dials to add some, I also checked use displacement maps, and set it at .200 I think. The wrinkles above the nose bridge were on the guy and the ones on his cheeks coming from side of nose, I think the displacement map made them show up better, and those are the ones I said needed softened a bit. and the little scar on the chin was on the pic also.

Lapis, I don't see anything in the readme that says you can use a bigger texture in the face room, but you could use the small ones to get the face shape, then apply the larger ones in the materials room :)

I like the face room a lot and think the textures it generates are as good as the pictures you input. You obviously used a real good picture. Two tips: Judy has morphs that widen the nose and narrow the nostrils, among others, that Don doesn't have. Copy them over to Don, the geometries are the same. Also, do post work on the face room textures. For example, copy the eyebrows from the original pic and lay them over the texture. It works well.

His eyes look confident but your model's eyes look afraid, ohter than that it is quite impressive. Marque

Thanks All :) and Marque, I only used the texture, I didn't try to make him look like the guy ;)

lol ok, I like those etched lines in the face, gives it more character than the purty boys we see. Marque

Nice pic, great job!

I just wish they would fix the ludicrous 512x512 limitation. It was promised about a month ago, but I have not heard a peep from Anthony or anyone else at CL. Unless I just missed it ... anyone read anything on this as of late?

Thanks,
Tim

Lapis ( ) posted Sun, 27 October 2002 at 8:53 AM

Marque, whar would you like to see as a res in the face room. Me. I'd like a minimum of 3000, but it should be user selectable.

Marque ( ) posted Sun, 27 October 2002 at 9:08 AM

I would like to see that as a start and like you say user selectable. What I would like most to see is a fix for that white band that you get on the neck. Marque

Lapis ( ) posted Sun, 27 October 2002 at 9:30 AM

At least its not a "red neck"(lol).
