What's the fascination??? It's CUTE in its boxy, sardine-can, non-conformist way G I love them - they're hell hard to come by over where I live. I can buy one from the east coast for about $8,000-$10,000 - spec-ed to U.S. laws, new paint job, etc - and then pay another $1000 to have it shipped here. But hell no will I pay that much L
And I don't like the new ones - no way, huh-uh.
Duddly - do you feel inspired enough to make the van & truck version of the Austin mini??? Or how 'bout a stock '65 Impala SS???
What the fasination is? Well if you live in Europe it comes apparnt right away, its small, nippy, corners like mad and goes pretty quick aswell, perfect for the European Urban Jungle :) The car has been a sucsess from the 60s on to its replacement 2 years ago, and the new Mini (basically a BMW) is continueng to build on the sucses. Mini, often copied, never matched ;) And Dudley, as a car nut I have to say, I love your work, keep it up. Axe
ehem I used to have a Mini. It cornered like mad, went pretty quick- but had no sound proofing to speak of, had a strange string thingie that closed the door and if you wanted to go any distance the best thing to do is to wear ear plugs - I went to see my sister in Colchester from where I lived (just outside London)- around 80 miles- and was so deafened that I couldn't hear what she was saying! The newer ones were much better and some of the specials even had proper door handles! (fact) The latest BMW mini are just the Bees Knees - as fast as the old mini and far more comfortable Dudley love your cars. What I would really like is a model of the MiniMoke - a sort of cross between a landrover and a Mini - If you are a viewer of sixties TV shows and you may have picked up a program called the Prisoner the little taxis in the village were minimokes. I'm doing some stuff for one of the fan sites and a minimoke could come in rather useful. PaulC
Also keep in mind, the Mini is quite possibly, the most important car on a historical basis. The fact that around 75-80% of all cars sold on this planet directly owe their front-drive, transverse engine/gearbox arrangement to the Mini is much more significant then a car that happened to be built on an assembly line (Model T) or an ill-handling, slow, crapbomb design stolen from the Czechs (Beetle).

I decided to take some time today to texture and import the Mini body into Poser to see how it would look. I also just started on a Porsche 356B body as well, someone I work with just bought a 61' 356B. I updated every page at my site with new shots of every car I have created as well as took down the 57' Chevy.
