Subject: Still can't get into BAT labs

idolitry ( ) posted Sat, 12 October 2002 at 10:04 AM · edited Tue, 24 December 2024 at 10:23 AM

I'm still having trouble getting into bat labs. I've signed up & received my password, I go back to the bat labs & click on the "LOGIN" button & a page pops up in my browser stating "Authorisation Required" the error number is 401. The url that I see in my address bar is "http://bat.server.ne.jp/member/" after clicking the "LOGIN" button. Can anyone tell me why I can't get in & others can.

Have you tried clearing your cache and cookie folders? Tom

I just tried your suggestion hawkfyr, now I'm getting "Page not found" which is an improvement, as I'm presuming BAT labs is just very busy at the moment. Thanks for the suggestion, I never thought of that.

Your welcome. The fact that you got something different probably means it's cookie related. Good luck Tom

Check your firewall settings. For example, if you have Zonealarm, you need to change the options so that you can get 3rd party cookies and popups for the Bat website.

Glad to hear it's not just me cliss. I've just tried shutting all programs down except systray & explorer then going to batlabs surfing nekked & I'm getting the original message "authorisation required" huskydog, guess I'll just have to keep plugging away at it. It's a shame as bat does some really good stuff, thanks for the suggestions everybody.

The 'member' in the URL mysteriously changed to 'members' in the last week or so. If you had a bookmark to the member page, edit the bookmark to add in the final S, and you should be golden.

Thanks pv, but I just go to the frontpage of the site, click on "Enter" and then get to the page where you click on the button to login. Oh well, I'll just have to keep trying.

kevbo, it turned out that I had "Anonymous logon" enable in IE, clearing that solve the problem. Thanks for the tip though
