are you using a trans map?

galactron22 ( ) posted Wed, 06 November 2002 at 3:22 PM

make sure both sides match up.

Ask me a question, and I'll give you an answer.

Paint Shop pro7, i do have photoshop although i dont know how to use it. I only know psp very well. i have never done a trans like this. although i want to try to make part transparent.

Not promising that this will work, but give it a try and see. First make sure that all areas you want to be transparent are true black 0,0,0 and not a shade. In the picture you posted here of the transmap, the area that should be black looks more gray. Also try setting the min and max and fallout for the trans settings all the way to the right, 100%, and set the highlight color for the material to black. Then render in Poser and see what happens.

I got it. i tried your way first and came out with the one on the left. but then i changed the top min and max to 100%min and 53%max. left the clip at 0% on both and left the skin on 100%on both. although had the color set on white and all the rest to black. all i have to do now is fix a few flaws in it and it well be ready for checking. thanks a bunch for your help.

Glad it is working out. Keep in mind, you can control what areas in the texture that render invisible (such as those shown above that look like missing gaps in the bikini top) can be fixed by leaving those areas on the transmap white. You can also use shades of gray if you want a lesser degree of transparency. However, I have found that you generally get your best results using solid white on the areas of the transmap you want the texture map to show when rendered, and using solid black on the rest you want to hide (make transparent).
