In case no one has noticed, the Charger, the Eagle, and the Buck: three high priced items, have been added to the Platinum Club at Daz. They've also got the texture maps in the club. These were some of the first characters I got when I started Poser, and they're all great. For $1.99 each, you can't lose if you don't already have them.

xoconostle ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 10:12 AM

I hadn't noticed, so many thanks for the heads-up. This is exactly what a lot of us had been hoping for. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for lower-priced dinosaurs, but even if that never happens, these three animals will be much appreciated by many.

dialyn ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 10:14 AM

Oh no....I am going to go broke if they keep adding things at this rate. Thank you for the update. Maybe if I just stop eating.... :(

pdxjims ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 10:24 AM

Funny you should mention not eating. I started really getting into 3D art and Poser late last year. I weighed 190 lbs. Now, I'm down to a trim 165, with no exercise other than moving the mouse and bitching at C-exceptions. Think there's a cause and effect here? ;)

Patricia ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 10:25 AM

Thank you for the tip! I've wanted that charger for the longest time.... =:) I love the Platinum Club--just got $125 of stuff for less than $10!!!

Patricia ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 10:27 AM

pdxjims, you must be male....I've gained 20 lbs. since January from doing exactly the same things!#?!!

dialyn ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 10:29 AM

Yeah, I'm not exactly losing weight on the Poser/Daz diet plan either. But my bank account is thinner than it used to be.

eric501 ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 10:52 AM

great to hear that those are being added to the plat. club. everybody needs a good buck from time to time. lol

dialyn ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 10:57 AM

If we all bought one and shared it, then it would be considered passing the buck, wouldn't it?

eric501 ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 11:10 AM

I guess the buck stops here

dialyn ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 11:14 AM

Oh, don't buck the trend now!

eric501 ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 11:26 AM

I guess I'll have to Charge(r) on. And be a little more Eagle eyed on my puns.

zechs ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 11:27 AM

What is this... National bad pun day? First the 2 headed giant thread now this... Oy. :)

eric501 ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 11:32 AM

sorry, got carried away. but thanks jim, for the heads up on the models.

pokeydots ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 11:44 AM

You can get the daz charger horse, Buck, and Eagle, for 1.99 each :) Also in the creature texture section there is one texture for charger, buck, and eagle. In the creature add on section there is the fantasy tack for the charger :) I got all of this for 14.00 ! Quit telling me about all this great stuff!!! lol

Woohoo! Thanks for the heads up on this! I know I needed to buy the texture for the buck separately, but how about the Charger and Eagle...do I need to go back and buy the texture separately for them too?

My idea of rebooting is kicking somebody in the butt twice!

"Gorn" was renamed "Legume." ducks and covers It's interesting that these items weren't added to the featured products page, which is where I first scan for new additions to the PC. Neither are there any new banners for them. Hm, that'll keep us searching on a daily basis! :-) By the way, does anyone have experience with any of these three models? Any comments?

xoconostle ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 1:26 PM

OK, I just searched the site for all things "Legume" and came up with ziltch. Unless the search engine isn't returning correctly, methinks Hiram has pulled off a very clever, very funny prank, which is funnier than a punny frank.

lordbyron ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 1:54 PM

Hiram's "legume morphs" is definitely a joke. Look at the purchase code ps_bst666...must be a reference to our beloved BBS troll. lol. --lb

jerr3d ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 2:07 PM

the charger was a daz freebie quite awhile ago, so you might seach to see if you have it before you plunk down your $1.99! But a $1.99 for that fabulous Eagle? That's a must have, so I got it! Whhhhooooooo!!!

"Look at the purchase code ps_bst666...must be a reference to our beloved BBS troll. lol." I was thinking "Beast 666." Still, cute joke. Legume is a character though, n'est-il pas?

BAM ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 2:27 PM

Eagle is great except you can't perch her with wings folded out of the box. I believe there might be morphs, add ons, or a separate model for perching that someone else did. I just don't recall at the moment

Little_Dragon ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 3:51 PM

bloodsong is the responsible party. You can download several free eagle add-ons from 3D Menagerie or DAZ's Free Stuff archives. She also has an Eagle Expansion Pak brokered at DAZ.

Hiram ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 4:54 PM

Her add-ons for these critters is half the reason I bought them. The Legume Expansion Pack is great! ; )

We got them out a bit late this week but we also just added these two packs by Elusion for Dresscoat Italia. Anton

Platinum Club keeps getting better and better - am I glad I got it! Just a heads up for the newer members - Lyne Masamitsu has also done some killer morphs for the eagle - African vulture, parrot, raven, Cooper's hawk, etc all on 3D Modelworld (see link). Bloodsong also has a great Buck pack at the link Little Dragon gave but I think it only comes up on the text version of the downloads. Gotta go install everything now :)

Awright - what's this?? A Legume character & its filename is 'bst666'?? What are the coincidences, really? And why can't I find it when I do a search either thru the Premiere OR the Platinum store??

I'm smelling a pact here........

If you note, the eagle is on sale only for a limited time, according to the site, so get it while you can!

PheonixRising ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 8:51 PM

Just FYI. It's not on sale. It is a new regular price at a $10 reduction for non Club members. These animals are permanent additions to the club.

"Will anymore of the animals be going Platinum ???"... I would say not to plan on it. The Platinum CLub is really designed as an avenue for new products. As you have seen on occasion, people can get a bit discouraged and upset by moving existing items. But we did want the Platinum Club to have these animals that are among our finest and most popular. We felt the creature section needed to be rounded out better. Over time it is possible some existing Daz Creations might appear in the Platinum Club but this is not going to be a standard practice. It is better to create new animals instead with some exceptions. Anton

Hey...Anton...don't get me wrong here :) Keep the stuff coming...I know darn well I paid for the eagle just a couple of months ago..the texture and the expansion pack as well...its a bummer that I could have saved some money, but the purchase before was worth the cash, otherwise I wouldn't have purchased it...plus I bought it at a reduced price when you guys had that sale, plus a coupon.... Now the buck will add to it..already had the charger and maps.... That BEAR, Rhino, and COW would be great adds to the Platinum Club....
