Subject: I give up....

ablc ( ) posted Thu, 07 November 2002 at 2:42 PM · edited Fri, 10 January 2025 at 8:22 PM

After fighting almost 1 week to make an animation without success, I give up. First Vue and Mover are not able to import correctly Poser files. I always have some texture/transparency problem. Then, all the poser Path have been deleted! no more Keyframes. The same file under poser works. I reload the file and surprise, all the differents keyframes related to the poser characters have been "dispatched" all over the animation timeframe. I don't even speak about all the crashs I had and the atsounding eon assistance. I regret sincerly to buy this software. Laurent

Tatata Laurent, il y a toujours une issue (there is always a solution). Chez e-onsoftware, on nous oute (at e-onsoftware they are listening to us). Un mot, en expliquant en detail tes probles (a word to them to explain your problems) et une solution va re trouv(and a solution will be found) :-)Guitta

Laurent, start slowly. Do 1. all the tutorials from the user guide of Vue 4 2. Do the tutorials from Mover 4 (twice or even three times with different scenes, to understand) 3. Do Phoul's tutorial Write to e-on if you think it is really a bug (I don't think so)or an incompatibility with your system (always possible). To write to e-on is also important for the team there, because if ever you have a special problem, they need to know about it. Be a nice guy, smile (even if I understand you don't want to smile at all at this moment). And don't distroy your Mover package in throwing it out the window (or send me your address, I will find somebody who will pick it up in the street:-)) Guitta

I already fill the support request and nothing in return. I can do the tutorials without problems. My problem is Mover can't handle complex poser complex scenes ! Take 2 mikes walking and talking together, add "downtown characteres" and make a movie. If you select an image 160x160, u can do all the sequence, but if you select another definition, results are totally impredictible. Laurent

Thank god, that someone else gets problems too. It was scary to be lonely... :)

I don't give up but it's stange. My PC has been reformated 3 days ago. I use P4 to make the pose and all the walk path. Now it works almost good except the timeline stuff that keep moving from 0s to 7s. I dunno why. Phoule: Yes, it works without problem when less poly. I just see something strange. If I Hide all the unecessary stuff, Vue seems react correctly... Anyway, I will try to render the full scene tonight. Question: Is 1 "cow" faillure could crash all the other ? I have unexpected crash with the farm and try to figure it out. Laurent

I think there is an important thing to know (I had the same problem in the beginning). Poser frames and Vue frames that's not the same. If you do a 10 seconds anim in Poser, it will not be a 10 second anim in Vue. Somebody else (Phoul) may explain it better. This must be the reason why it moves to 7 insteed of something else you expected.

Laurent,

Indeed you contacted tech support, and I answered your question within two hours. I said I had no idea what was causing the problem, and offered to check your files. But you didn't follow up.

Please don't go around posting messages that e-on tech support is bad if you are not prepared to follow up. How many companies have tehcnical support staff that respond within such a short time frame?

Here is the thread:

I don't usually get irritated that way, but I feel offended by all your ranting.

Sorry but I didn't have any news from you and I didn't even had a confirmation mail about the post despite the fact i validate the mail stuff. As matter of follow up, I'm leaving in europe, and it was the night, and sometime i need to sleep... Maybe some email server problem here. Anyway, all the files are very very big >30Mo. Laurent
