Sigh, now you drag me back again lol Thanks for the hair that is great! Marque

Marque ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 9:19 AM

ok, I have put the card in a vault in my basement of my summer home in Geneva. It needs a rest! It can't go on like this! Between you and Daz platinum and the Renderosity sales and the PoserPro sales my card is fainting with exaustion. Marque

chijwi ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 9:40 AM

Colm, I just went through the sale items, I knew there was a sale, but I didn't realize the extent of the great things that were included!! Things by some of my favourite artists lol, like Syyd Raven, Traveler, Nikitacreed, Styxx, Ravnheart, Xurge... the list just goes on and on! rubbing hands together and grinning Plus, I love the freebies (holy cow, they're awesome!), and the new layout is faboo :)

udgang99 ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 10:02 AM

That free hair ... can it be used in PoserPro ?

Colm_Jackson ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 10:09 AM

udgang99: All P5 hair can only be used in P5 including this one. chijwi: Yes it's a massive sale. Glad you like the new look and the freebees...:) Colm...

Some sale! :o( I went to the sale store, I got to the second page, and had sent two items to the shopping cart, when I tried to go to the third page I kept getting "page not available". So I figured I would check out with the two items I had, so I tried to go to checkout, and I got "timed out". I tried to get back to the store and got "Refresh page", which did not work. I hope everyone else has better luck and I hope I can get through later, before the sale ends. I guess I'm a just little frustrated, and disappointed. :O(

Colm_Jackson ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 11:17 AM

Sorry to hear that Philywebrider the site blinked out for a short time due to some strange hic-up. It's back up now. The trials and tribulations of the modern age...:)

SamTherapy ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 12:25 PM

The server just rolled over and died again, but before it did I managed to buy Cybertronica. Happy happy joy joy. :)

I went back got through checkout, but the system kicked me off before I could download the last two items. I'd buy more, but I don't have all day to spend trying to download. I'm sorry I bought what I did.

Philywebrider ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 12:53 PM

Tried again, This time I got "Blank page detected", and then everything locked up.

MadYuri ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 12:56 PM

I'm just back from the sale. The server died two times on me, but with some persistence I got everything I wanted. Thanks RDNA. :)

quesswho ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 1:00 PM

I also got "blank page detected" and I have tried through my email notice,Curious labs and the link here(sometimes I have had 1 link not work) Marge

Philywebrider ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 1:03 PM

Madyuri I'm still trying, I haven't given up, just anoyed.

Philywebrider ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 1:09 PM

I tryed opening one file I downloaded, and I get a "not a valid archive", apparently the site crashed in process of downloading, I now have nothing. MadYuri maybe you should check your downloads.

queri ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 1:19 PM

You don't have a limited time to download at Rdna. So just shop-- come back later to your account and download when the traffic lays off. Emily

boulder ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 1:40 PM

strange ... I thought I was in the Poser forum not the Product showcase forum

Patricia ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 2:25 PM

I'm with Emily....just had my 4th attempt to get two items blocked by a "data encryption error"....?? Never got that before. I'll try again later.

Emily You do have a limited time, the sale is only for 24 hours. I did just now (finialy) get the items downloaded(started 10:30am this morning). I now have this problem on one of the sale items. I have poser4 with propack and patches. Any idea what the problem is?

Colm_Jackson ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 3:48 PM

RDNA apologizes for the site blinking out a few times today due to an overload of downloading etc. Bondware have been informed and they are keeping a close eye on it. For those of you who may be worried about missing the sale we are thinking about extending it through Saturday and Sunday for help with wieght of traffic. We will keep you informed of this. The 'data encryption error' is the usual error caused by the browser that you are using. You need to use IE 5.5 or higher or the latest version of Netscape. The Bondware setup that we use is different to Renderosity and less customized. This is why the latest browsers have to be used. The error in the post above this one is most likely a corrupt .rsr geometry file has been created when Poser has tried to use the .obj. You need to navigate to the directory that is stated in the error message and delete the file mboots.rsr. The 'not a valid archive' is indeed a download error that has corrupted the file. This is quite common in digital downloads. All you have to do is go to your account at RDNA and redownload the file. Again we apologize for the site woes today. Please try to understand that posting you problems on Renderosity delays us from fixing them for you. You need to write to Syyd at syyd@runtimedna.com and she will be more that happy to help you. We also have a store contact forum at RDNA where you can leave a message stating your problem. Thank you all for your patience and support. Colm Runtime DNA...

JetM ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 3:50 PM

Well, I'm $60 lighter in the bank account now, but richer in poser goodies. Nicholae, Bone armor, forest mysteria... all things that I've looked and but never could quite justify buying. So there's my present to RDNA for your bday/anniversary :)

Colm_Jackson ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 3:55 PM

Thanks JetM... Great to see that things are getting back to normal...:)

queri ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 3:59 PM

Philywebrider, I realise the sale is just for a day or maybe a couple, but that's for buying. You can wait till after the sale to download. I've left stuff in my account for days-- weeks. I still got stuff in my account. Emily

guarie ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 4:02 PM

Colm - you're a week too early! Oh damn - I don't get paid until next Friday! Are you guys gonna have any more sales like this? I counted at least 10 items I've been drooling over and would love to have got in the sale but can't (Daz and Renderosity have already drained my card to the point of being anemic!). Happy birthday, btw!

farang ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 4:11 PM

A SALE IS A SALE AND NOT JUST AN OPPORTUNITY TO UNLOAD THE STUFF THAT NOBODY IS BUYING.

kayjay97 ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 4:14 PM

I have GOT to quit spending so much. LOL. I have been hitting RDNA on a regular basis and have most of what is on sale. And the couple of things I was hoping to pick up apparently aren't on the sale list :( oh well..............

Farang, you get real. The Bone Armor is on sale, All of Visual Silence is on sale, some of the finest textures ever made are on sale. No way is this scraping the bottom of any barrel I've ever seen. The Separates and their textures are on sale! Geeze, get a clue. These are the Best items! Not the worst. Emily

kayjay97 ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 4:50 PM

uh.... farang? Have you actually looked at all that is on sale?? I mean, this stuff is premo stuff and like queri says, it is FAR from scraping the bottom of the barrel. I don't understand your statement all... scratching head...........

heyas; marque! you fool! SELL your summer home in geneva, then you dont have to lock the card in the basement, there ;) and farang.... you mean, sales ARENT to boost low-selling stuff? you mean, they're just for reducing profit on popular stuff that is raking in the dough?? (where are you FROM???) (or who taught you business practices? ;) ) thanks, colm. :)

Sacred Rose ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 8:40 PM

Farang..... shakes head and bites tongue to suppress my immediate response Farang, The 50 % sale is NOT I do repeat NOT on slow selling items etc...they are on our MOST requested items. Patricia ( ) posted Fri, 08 November 2002 at 11:20 PM

Have any other Mac users tried to purchase anything from the store today??? I even--at Sydd's email recommendation-- went and downloaded the newest version of IE (5.2.2 for Macs), but I still get a "data encryption failure" everytime I try to checkout. (And, oddly, the buttons at the bottom of the page are broken, too--I click on the ones at the lower right, which I think are the correct ones. The ones on the left take me back to my personal info.) If anyone's still monitoring this thread, could you check with someone knowledgeable about Macs and see if they can tell us what is going wrong?

Patricia: I've found IE--in any incarnation for the Mac---to be useless for encrypted D/L's. Download Mozilla and try again. You may never use IE again...

Colm_Jackson ( ) posted Sat, 09 November 2002 at 8:44 AM

Patricia, I don't think Syyd knew that you are a Mac user. In this case you need to use the latest version of Netscape. If you continue to have problems please contact syyd again as leaving messages here it is probable that we will miss them. Thanks for your patience...:) Also. We have just had the server upgraded due to the site blinking out yesterday because of the heavy traffic. Hopefully this should solve these problems. We have also extended the sale to cover the whole of the holiday weekend. It will now end Tuesday morning. Colm...:)
