Subject: Which would you rather have?

Lyrra ( ) posted Wed, 13 November 2002 at 5:40 AM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 9:10 AM

Would you rather have more clothing models and figures? or more textures and morphs for existing figures? What are the clothing/items figures you would most like to see have additional support made for? (morphs, characters, bodyMORs, textures, cloths, hair, etc) Just curious :) Lyrra

I, personally, would like: more textures and morphs. genny

I think there will always be plenty of new clothing, textures and hair produced for the Millenium figures. More is always welcome but I'd like to see some extras for the less used poser stuff. Things like a realistic mane and tail and more textures for the poser horse. Textures and morphs for the dog and cat. I'd like to see a good boxer morph for the dog for example. And long-hair breeds seem to have been totally ignored. Old English sheepdog would be good. In view of the preponderance of fantasy images I'm sure a morph/texture for an Irish Wolfhound or similar breed would go down well.

Dynamic clothing for P5, please....

Madrigal ( ) posted Wed, 13 November 2002 at 7:09 AM

That's difficult.... everything, I guess :D At the moment, I'd say new hair more than anything, if I need a prop I can knock one up in TrueSpace, but I'm not up to hair. Clothes - I post at rotica a lot and don't use these much, but more everyday stuff for the millenium figures would be nice, there's a lot of fantasy costume out there. I do my own hair and clothing textures if I need them, good skin textures are always useful, although I nearly always have to shrink them or my poor machine falls to its knees and begs for mercy. M

Animal morphes, textures, and models!

I agree about the textures and morphs for animals ... I'd love to see these, I would definitely buy a package that had some high quality morphs and textures for horses, dogs, wolves, etc. Would love to see one for a Shetland Sheepdog. I have four of 'em. :-)

Historical clothing especially for Mike.

brian71us ( ) posted Wed, 13 November 2002 at 7:54 AM

I would be most interested in clothing and clothing textures for Mike. Aside from the clothing packs available from DAZ3D there are only a few "normal" clothing packages that I've come across. Most are sci-fi/fantasy clothing items. All of which are nice, but I am interested primarily in business or business casual items. I also agree with textures and morphs for the animals. And, of course, clothing items and textures for DSI's Dina. Thanks, Brian

Decent male textures and clothing for the Poser Dork.......oh stop laughing, I'm relatively poor and can only buy a few Poser related things ;) Mon

P5 Dynamic clothing for Judy. And Don.

sueya ( ) posted Wed, 13 November 2002 at 10:18 AM

Well I agree we need more clothes for the male figures. Vicky and Posette have a much better range of stuff than Mike and the Dork. Also can we have some cheap/free stuff for Super Model Vicki. I have the Lo-res version Super Model Lori but she has very few clothes.

  1. More dynamic clothing with more millenium figure fits. There isn't anything out there for them really. 2) Face and body Morphs for Don. He's worse than the dork as he stands now. There were tons done for Posette, but the dork only got a few specialty ones. I hope Don gets more. Anything to make him usable. 3) Casual clothing for everyone. No more armor, loincloths, chainmail. No more capes or sci-fi outfits. No one has done a respectable set of tighty whitey underwear for a male figure or a pair od speedos, even Mike. Short sleve shirts, or shirts with rolled up arms. Low cut make jeans (preferable with a dress right and left option - he does have genitals, real men do). 4) A good set of textures for the Millenium beard. The ones that come with it are OK, but where's the detail? The variation? No more goatee face textures. We've got enough. 5) P5 matrials sets. The new material room is too cool. Traveler has done some great freebies over at rDNA, but there are so many possibilities... 6) A new high res male figure. Something not Mike (I won't mention Don or the dork). Mike's great, but just about everything done with him still comes across Mike. We need the same kind of variation on male figures as we have on female figures. So much the better if he can use Mike's clothing and textures. Don't want much, do I? Thanks for asking!

Sorry for the late reply. I'm exhausted from dragging this dead horse to once again be beaten: I'd like to see somebody make a clown jump-suit. I'm more than willing to pay for it. Thanks for listening.

I agree with those that said more every day clothes for mike. Also some clothes with some morphs that look like mike and vickie are undressing, shirt tails untucked untied ties. And maybe a towel to wrap around mikes hips when he gets out of the shower. Maybe a body texture that has tan lines. and a nice comericial side part, clean cut haircut for mike I love the historical stuff but there is not much you can do with it unless working on specific project and then your done-- Maybe some scifi sets that are more "startrekie" or "buck rogerie" bright clean future not all dark and forbidding

igohigh ( ) posted Wed, 13 November 2002 at 12:20 PM

More Mike clothes, Vicky's closet is overflowing!! (especially good fantasy type stuff and not all 'royalty' either, like some peasent and 'regular' folk stuff)

bikermouse ( ) posted Wed, 13 November 2002 at 12:44 PM

Lyrra, More clothing models and figures. Morphs I can usually figure out unless they involve the eyelids or the mouth. Textures I'm not that good at but still I want to learn those myself. Old people, heroes heroines or even Conan the Librarian would do. - TJ

The P4 animals need alot more in the way of textures and trans. And more models of insects at reasonable prices. More pale and platinum blonde texs for Dark Whisper's hairs (my current Objects of Desire!) And a Poser cat that looks like a real cat....I saved that for last because I despair of seeing one in my lifetime!

K-Mart and WalMart specials for Mike and Vicki. I recently did a gritty home scene and couldn't put a dress on Vicky or an apron. If I wanted to do something about the 30's I could do Mike, cause his clunky suits look awful enough, and there are even a couple of fedoras out there, but I would be stuck for Vicki not to mention Steph. I would have one thing-- Rena's textures for Jim Burton's sweater and skirt. If they are even still available. Down home clothing that is detailed, dirty, a morphable "real" apron for Vicki that she could wipe her hands with-- or even clutch. A work jacket for Mike, that could morph to cowboy, rancher, butcher, etc, would be great. A tshirt that is LOOSE-- for everybody. One thinks that non-glamorous clothing wouldn't sell-but it would if it were done extra well, with beautiful seaming and details, like a ragged hem, wrinkles, etc. Look at Gorodins's very simple sci-fi suits-- they didn't sell because they were glamerous. They sold because they were incrediably wellmade. The seams made you weep.;-)more or less. Anything at all for the Mil boys-- who now have some wonderful textures but absolutely nothing to wear but KMart-- and no parents to go with them! Fantasy and fairy stuff for the Mil boy would be great-- I'm at a loss to put anything on him but bikini bottoms!!! A Huck Finn set, overalls, straw hat, ragged shirt et al. Then Beggar clothing that could go multi period, Long skirts and tunics for the MIl girls-- that's all it would take to get them in almost any period with the many Vicki bodysuits out there. I love Catherine Todd's over dress and it's alternate textures at Daz-- give me something like that for the Mil girls and boys. Put breast morphs in if you feel you have to-- but leave the flat chest there too! Oh, and period babies! On the Aldara project we had No idea how to deal with an infant in trouble-- put him in a bunny suit??? Speaking of that-- anyone ever done anything for nativity scenes?? Three Kings?? Emily oh, Lyrra, you had to ask.

About the Shetland Sheepdog....here is a link to one. Not cheap, but it looks lovely. I just ordered the Maine Coon from there. I want to see "real people" clothes. Old bathrobes, flannel nightgowns, sloppy sweats, sport clothes, team jackets, and, oh yes, that elusive fluffy cat or poodle. Pretend you are designing for an TV advertising company. Diane

dialyn ( ) posted Wed, 13 November 2002 at 5:24 PM

It's funny how we keep asking for realistic clothes, and we keep getting fantasy outfits (nothing wrong with fantasy outfits but variety would help). There's a whole market of consumers that are being missed. Sure wish I knew how to design clothes....or anything!
