Advice please! Just downloaded the Beta 4 release but didn't do the install yet.Now I find out that Beta 5 is out.Help,do I install Beta 4 then download Beta 5 and install or forget Beta 4 and just install Beta 5?

Just install 5. 4 caused problems with the models, they were rough and looked like crap even when rendered, 5 is supposed to fix that and other things.

yes, beta 5 fixed the smmothing that b4 caused.

Oh, how nice that they fixed it so fast, was about to throw my PC out of the window...

You do not need to install the Service Packs in a strict sequence. All Service packs include all the fixes included in the earlier packs. In other words: You don't need to install beta 4 before beta 5.

uh - oh - I missed the daily Poser5 - Beta-release (lol). However - it's good to see they're working :o)

we need our daily fix !!!!!!!!!

Agree, I need to run a daily 25 Mb or so download on my DSL modem to keep it in shape and prevent the circuits from rusting due to lack of use ;-)

just my luck I installed b4 yesterday now I have to do it all again with b5 :) I'm glad CL are doing their best to squash the bugs though, am I the only one who noticed a big rendering speed increase with b4 compared to b3?

Kelderek ( ) posted Thu, 14 November 2002 at 4:27 AM

It was a huge rendering speed increase with b3 (the first one I installed after SR1). If it's even better with b4 (and b5, of course), it's great :-)

You have to admit, less than a 24 hour turnaround to fix the problem is pretty darn good. Of course, it does point out that they still have problems doing ALPHA testing. Loading a figure in Beta SR2-4 and doing a render showed the problem right away. Kupa, if I were you I'd take a long hard look at your testing methodology and department management. You're getting better, but you still have problems. BTW, when are you going to get the hair collisions fixed? It seems to get worse and not better with each beta release. I'm killing my test on it now.

Wait, isn't today an even-numbered day? Does that mean another patch will be out today or tomorrow? But, it does make me glad I got the cable modem- a daily 25M+ download sure keeps all the gears running smoothly.

Wait, isn't today an even-numbered day? Does that mean another patch will be out today or tomorrow?<<< Depends. Is tonight a full moon? And is Jupiter and Mars in alignment? Take care and be well. casamerica

Yep, when the Moon is in the Seventh House and Jupiter aligns with Mars ...
