Subject: Tubes?!?

I've searched my manual, the help files and 4 other PS books and still don't know what these are. Anyone ever heard of "tubes" for PS? If so, what are they?

mugsworth ( ) posted Wed, 13 November 2002 at 10:53 PM

There are no "tubes" for PhotoShop. Tubes are only used in Paint Shop, and if you search google you'll find a load of them.

Thanks for the reply! I did find a load! The question is - can I use them anywhere else?

Tubes are not for photoshop. The ones you can use for for photoshop are called plugins

PhotoSpray is a third party filter Plug-in for Photoshop that will let you do the same as Tubes in Jasc Paintshop Pro and Image Spraying Tool in Corel Photo-Paint.

Pretty cool dreamer101, do you know anyone who's used it? :) retrocity

I've used PhotoSpray. It works well if you want to create an all over pattern. It doesn't work as well if you want to put your spray in specific places on a new layer. The problem is that it's a filter which effectively takes the layer selection you're working on into a new "space" and you can't see the other layers of your image. - Ken Heronheart -

Thanks again folks! Now I am off to delete all those downloaded tubes...:)

ashpash ( ) posted Sun, 01 December 2002 at 4:44 PM

PSP Tubes can be used in Photoshop, all you need is a little program called 'Tube Extractor'. It takes the tube and converts them into PNG format which can be read by any graphic aplication. http://www.mediachance.com/pbrush/tips/tip2.html Try here for downloading or do a search for it. Works really well. Michele

Not a problem

Lyrra ( ) posted Sat, 07 December 2002 at 8:52 PM

or grab a free demo of paintshop, open the tube file and save as PSD. then you can grab the images from photoshop. I've collected a slew of useful images that way. WARNING - many of the people who make tubes use copyrighted images without permission. Be careful.
