Hmm do you need it to be one object that other objects would be linked to like an explosion shaped lattice? I 'm not sure what you mean by an explosion like "thing" could it be a picture of an explosion mapped to a 2D plane ? Is this for an animation? Hawkfyr oh By the way , whats the rush?

I need it done by tommorow cause it's a project with a due date. Secondly it needs to be an animated explosion like fireworks, with bright pieces of light exploding in every direction but it needs to be orderly like a firework (and ni I did not put if off till the last minute) :). I really have no idea how to get this effect because it is beyond ,my Brycian skills (ive created a new word "Brycian" referring to something done with bryce) Hope that helps you help me, cause I dont even know where to start. Thanks Tempest
only thing I can think of is to create a model, like a sphere, made out of many many tiny spheres. Group it all together and texture it with whatever texture looks good for the fireworks, then use the explode objects button in the edit toolbar and move em apart bit by bit for every frame. It ain't the best way, I'm sure, just the only thing I can think of at the moment to animate it. Thoght that wouldn't be on a 2D plane, but you might be able to use a path to keep it on the 2d plane or to control the direction. Hawk would have to tell you more about paths than I can

paths would probly take too long how bout this make a bunch of spheres i mean alot make sure you have them all selected but not grouped in the adit palet selct the second icon from the right is the randomize tool the dropdown list will give and option to constrain it to 2d plane (or whatever you want) make your selection and drag left and right on the little ball above the icon. this will randomize all the spheres and make keyframe 1 with all the bals together or in one general area. and keyframe 30 or whatever...completley exploded Bryce interpolation will fill in the rest. Btw try different random settings 3d dispers and rotate etc. Hope this helps Best i can think of in a pinch good luck Hawkfyr

okay i just tried this in the edit menu choose the simply straight path select it and in it attributes select "show origen handle next (from top view) zoom in and drag the green origen point so it overlaps the blue dot at the beginning of the path. now select an object (tori) and in its attributes select the linking tab and under object parent select the simply strait path whoa.. yet new options will reveal themselves select "constrain to path" and leave the position at zero this will move the object to the beginning of the path. now for the really cool part set up your animation lets say 3 seconds now select the path and the object and go to the multi replicate dialog ( under the edit menu) under quantity select 90 under rotate Y axis select 4( by the way this is why you relocated the origin handle) with all the objects selected add a keyframe now drag the animation slider to the end ( 5 Sec) now with all the objects selected open the attribute and now enter 100 in the position( this will move all the objects to the end of the path) add a keyframe and playback if you needed to you could convert some objects to other things to break it up. and reposition the paths Hope this helps good luck Hawkfyr

wow thats a coinceidence i'm still playin with it and i made mine fade as it traveled along the path. you cant delete an animated object. instead, animate the materal. in the materials editor in keyframe 1 make it the starting material and in the 14th framemake another one on the 15th frame just make the material transparent let me know if this is working for you . hope this helps Hawkfyr

Yeah it's fun but animation sure does take commitment, not to mention hardware. the multi-replicte dialog is a fun place to play too. I also like dragging origin points aroun to get interesting multireplicate effects. Play Play Play I always say 8 )~ Hawwkfyr

Aww shucks. thanks I'm just havin fun with it too now if I could only get a really good image going. But I'll discuss that in another thread. I'm always glad to help if I can Tempest : is this the approach you decided to go with? Thanks again H2 tha really means alot coming from you. i'll send you the basket tomorrow okay? Hawkfyr

Hawk, you should start a website for deep Bryce and Poser tutorials. Your freely shared info has been more help to me than any of the tutorials and crap I've read. Way better than the pitiful users manual. Hey, there ya go. You should get in touch with Corel about writing a new and competent users manual that would actually be of some use.

Wow . thanks You really think so ? I really enjoy helping others. because it helps me as well, If I'm unsure of something I try it out first before sending misinformation. writing part of the manual would be something I would enjoy more than you would ever know. perhaps I'll look into it. and maybe I'll start some tutorials. any suggestions? Thanks again Bone...really .... thanks Hawkfyr

Hawkfyr go for it.....I am certainly amazed by your knowledge of the workings of Bryce.I've been poking around on the 'web' for three years now and have not run into anyone that can solve a problem in Bryce as quickly as you. Perhaps it could be done right here on the Renderosity site. You have my full support.....Regards H2
Wow Thanks for the encouragement guys. I'm going to be moderating the new "Challenge" forum soon. Yes they're going to let me have my challenge forum and gallery. Whats interesting is that i may be able to incorperate this into the Challenges . Jack and Ed asked me to draw up a Mock challenge site. It was really basic ( I suck at web design and html editors) I sent it off to them and Roy will do his magic and will look it over and make all the changes to make it work. so when it's implimented I will be new to me as well. anyway were hhoping to set it up wher you move from level to level in certain apps , working your way up from novice to tutor or master for example if you suck at Poser but are really good at Bryce you would be challeneged as a novice or intrmediate Level in Poser But You could have a Tutor level In Bryce and would be made available if (you so wished)to help the others in there challenges. also maybe impliment a "Masters" challenge where the Tutors and masters could challenge eachother. Well this is about as much detail thats been given here on that subject . and It may be setup differently but this is essentially what we talked about on the phone. I'm pretty excited about it. well lets see, sounds great, but you will need to be pretty speciffic, otherwise you will end up with guys that deserve to bne intermediate competing with the begginers and all that. Perhaps you need to have a sepperate membership to get into the challenge forum if you want to compete, and you will have to submit a certaint amount of your better work to the forum moderator (thats you Hawkfyr) and he will decide which skill level you belong in judging by your Brycian skills ( Brycian: 1.pertaining to Bryce, 2.A small rodent indigenous to North Africa). Best of luck with your new forum ;-) P.S. help me spread the new word around and dont forget to mention its inventor :)
Actually I did'nt invent the concept at all. We actually do this at alt.binaries.3d.bryce newsgroup and with there blessing,I'm starting this one . but since we have so many different applications her at Renderosity, we will have to make some modifications and sorting out who uses what apps . so the challenge fits the artist software capabilities (sp). Oh and yes I forgot to mention that Artist's will have to sign up for the Challenge, and I was thinking a form to fill out stateing what you have available to you among other information, this way people who don't wan't to participate, won't be bothered with challenge invitations, also a "Challenge" Gallery to display all the Art By all means ....Spread the word. the more the merrier Hawkfyr
“The fact that no one understands you…Doesn’t make you an artist.”
you didn't even mention Brycian (Brycian: 1. pertaining to Bryce, 2. A small rodent indigenous to North Africa) Well it sounds really interesting but I am not sure about the basic concept, for some reason it just doesn't work for me, ask me why, well im not exactly sure, it just doesn't sound right to me, I was thinking more along the line of certain categories, and best image wins, once a week or however often you want. But thats just me, asking people to battle it out seems like a bad idea and it may turn into another pissing contest as someone so elloquently put it.
Hmm No its not a battle it's just a challenge where someone sets the paramiters for the image and you (the challenged) try to make what is requested for example: the challenge might go like this; the theme is.De Ja Vu Use any applications available Pre and Post work is okay Must use 3original texutres 3 Boolean objects and so on, you would then accept (or not) the challenge and would in turn challenge the next artist, this is not a competition it's just a way of expanding and challenging the artits abilities and maybe try something they otherwise would'nt. not to mention bringing the community together by working together. bone, as for money, I'm not sure but there was talk of prizes possibly. Hawkfyr

Thanks ARADTech, I must say I'm getting pretty excited about it, I think the delay is that it's a little more complicated to set up as far as the layout and html. You all here in the Bryce forum (my favorite forum) will be one of the first to know when it starts. Thanks again for the support. and spread the word. Hawkfyr

I need to create an explosion like thing that sends all the objects in an orderly fashion in all directions on a 2d plane. It needs to look like a fireworks explosion. I really need help and quickly. Thanks Tempest
