Are you importing the pz3 file? If you import it that way, it should be fine. I don't get any requests for loading the materials. If you have the latest update to Vue, you should be able to import the Poser 4 figures directly without having to save them as 3ds or other format.
Mac or PC? On the Mac it is important that all bitmaps are not organized in sub-folders. If that is the case, Vue does have big difficulties to find them! But as Dieser said, if you are importing pz3 files and if you are using the latest version 4.1 of Vue, it should be ok. Maybe its a good idea that you give us an example what you mean with "terrible" - compared to Poser. Walther

the status Mac wise? It works. Look at this image from TheWingedOne, done on a Mac - and see. As mentioned above, the most important thing you have to keep in mind is, that Vue is a little sensitive regarding bitmaps. In the context where they are saved! But if you avoid that... But dont forget, we are talking about import filters. And each import filter does have weak points. For example Vue is not yet able to deal with Poser 5 files - because Poser 5 came out after Vue 4.1 was published. I think there is no other app out there (in this price range), which is able to deal with Poser so easily. WaltherOne day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.
I use Poser 4 with Vue 4.1 all the time. If I hadn't had Vue already, I would have purchased it for the ability to import Poser files alone, although I like it for a lot of other reasons. I am on PC, so can't speak to the Mac issues. You can import the props, everything, as long as you put it into a scene in Poser first and save it as a Poser file.

Spratman, just like Walther aka wabe already said. Always make shure that the textures of the objects you'd like to import are not in nested folders. Simply put them into the "Runtime/textures" folder and there you go. After recognizing this issue import with Vue 4.1 worked like a charm on my Mac. Thanks a lot wabe to rely on my last pic for reference purposes! :) Though I have to admit that I did quite some more work on the textures... If you use Poser 4 (not Propack) the bump maps are saved as BUM-files which Vue can't read correctly. So I resaved those as JPEG-files and applied them to the approprite texture. But I have to admit this is way much easier then within Bryce. Looks like Vue finally got me! :) Vue is really worth the money, spratman. Try the demo and you'll understand what I want to say. Philthanks everyone looks like i opened a can o worms there using the original poser file works fine ..i can do some serious work now.. they do go together well its a pity they arnt merged into one ..now that would be a powerful bit of software ,,thanks very much for all your replies to my question regards (davy)
