Subject: Who makes hair like that in Daz new Victoria's Plate Armor ad?

The main ad on the page has long blond wavy hair, it is probably painted or composited hair but I'd sure like some 3d hair like that. It's like the hair I've described on my wish list to Daz many times, long curly/wavy hair for angels, fairy godmothers, and everyday use too. Does anyone have any hair that looks like this and is morphable to put all the hair behind the body or in front over the shoulders, bend, sway, etc. I haven't seen any of the long hair models that look this good yet, even P5 hair, so have I missed one?

This looks a lot like postwork to me, especially if you consider the way the hair is "compressed" by the helmet. If anyone makes a Poser hair that looks as good as this one, I will definately get it... Cool plate armor, BTW, I guess this Vicky will not get naked in a temple unless DAZ releases a can opener prop ;-)

I just took a quick look at it, but it looks like at least some of it was done with Eye Candy's Fur filter. Very nice though, and it goes well with that armor. LOL Kelderek, we can always hide some of the armor parts to make Vicky's usual temple-guarding style. ;) SnowS

I do not speak as a representative of DAZ, I speak only as a long-time member here. Be nice (and quit lying about DAZ) and I'll be nice too.

I believe the artist who did that is Gordana. I think this is the post that she talks about how she hand painted the hair. Her work is amazing.

Painted it is and a good job at that. I'd sure like to see that kind of hair in 3d. Thanks for the feedback folks.

That looks lot like the Fur filter in EyeCandy, I use it a lot myself so I'm familiar with it. If I'm wrong, I apologise. It's a very tough filter to work with and takes a good eye to get good results. Emily

I think this is sort of it. This render shows off a series of morphs I made for Dark Whisper's "California Hair". The resulting product is zig-zaggy at close-up rather than curvy curls, but as this render shows, the further back you go the curlier it renders. I too have been after this kind of hair for a very long time indeed, and I have a feeling this is as good as it's going to get without getting into crazy polygon counts. I contacted Dark Whisper about distributing the morphs as a CR2 but have not heard back, this was about two weeks ago. Perhaps if more people email him, he will be inspired to respond? -WTB

yum!!!!! can I get that for XMAS ???

diana ( ) posted Fri, 29 November 2002 at 8:47 AM

WilliamTB, yep, that's the problem with all the long hair out there now, too angular looking in the curls. If all the hair was massed together like it is on the right side in your picture that looks like it would work at a longer distance shot. Separated out as it is on the left, it is just too obviously angular.

WTB - I haven't heard from you? Did you email me? Your morphs look great - drop me a line ;-) darkwhisper@3duniverse.co.za cheers, Steve

I agree with a couple of people above. That most definitely looks like the Eyecandy fur filter.
