Hi I'm trying to create a scene in which I have amongst other things a poser mouse skiing. so I used the terrain function in Bryce5 to make the attached picture my idea was to use the 2 round 'hummocks' in the background (image) and export the foreground terrain as an .obj file into poser. problem when I do that the colours are different. So I decided to export the 2 'hummocks' as well. now this is the real problem the foreground works well the other 2 just become flat plains which is not what I wanted. I do not have much experience with bryce so any help would be useful Thanks Dave

Why not export your Mouse to bryce, much easier. Thats how most do it.

I can only take a guess here. Maybe; Your two terrain ridges back there, maybe their height was produced more by increasing the height of the meshes Y factor instead of just through the terrain editor itself, so...when it's exported, it looks flat?

Aye, AgentSmith is dead on, try increasing the y scale in Poser... But honestly, exporting Bryce into Poser? Kinda spooky... (grins)

Hi I've tried the trick with the y scale doesn't work I'll have another play tonight. The reason I export from Bryce to poser is that, well I have more exprience with poser and have found that exporting to bryce has problems with textures/bump/trans maps etc. I have downloaded grouper and the other prog who's name excapes me but I havn't had the courage to try them yet. Have I got to use them each time I import i.e. if I go and re-tweak a pose or will the tex settings still be in bryce? If that question makes sense? I really want to use the mil-dragon/s but (quakes in boots at the prospect :-) ) thanks guys Dave

In answer to your question about persistence of texturs, if you import the tweaked figure before deleteing the old one, yes. Bryce is not quite as friendly as poser regarding poser originated textures, but in reality it is not too difficult. Many people here have mastered this without too much pain and effort. If you have any questions, ASK! There is always someone here who can help. I would suggest, picking up this as the render engine capability as well as the scene creation capacity in Bryce vastly exceeds that of poser (personal opinion). I use poser on the laptop open concurrent with Bryce on the desktop (they're linked by P2P LAN). To re-iterate, please feel free to ask.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

Use use Nerd's Backdrop in poser or Rdna has a freebie like called infinity cove. You can create the back ground in bryce, render it then put it on the back drop in poser.

I do all my renders in Bryce with Poser figures imported. Besides I know Bryce better than Poser so is easier for me.
