Subject: Dreamspinner Inc. Has New Computer

Just letting all of you know that I bought a new computer (it's a 500 mhz) and Verdie will be inheriting my Toshiba. Which means for her that her renders for Bryce won't take days at at time. For me it means learning, and fighting against Windows 98 and having to reload EVERYTHING! I've at least got my internet back up (or I wouldn't be typing this right now) and I've at least got Poser back in but not all the files that I had loaded before. I'll have to burn a copy of what was in Poser on the Toshiba. Does anyone know how I can move my bookmarks from the Toshiba to this one (a Compaq)? I'll be lost without my bookmarks.

are you using IE or Netscape?

Dreamspinner ( ) posted Sun, 16 April 2000 at 1:22 PM

I'm using Netscape (IE is a bad word around me!)

Ok here is what you do: Use explorer to go to: Program Files/Netscape/Users/(subfolder) and grab the bookmarks.htm file put it in the same folder on the new puter. Instant bookmarks :)

Trav, I agree about Agent--OE organizes them in the strangest way, no matter how you select for sort--and doesn't always thread correctly, etc. What a difference when I went back to Agent. The only think I don't like is that you can't view binaries 'inline'. I have about 10 more days demo and then when my computer is up, plan to purchase. (our deletes crossed paths, I guess). Diane B

Okay, I'll try that when we get Toshiba connected up for Verdie. Can I also save my address book in the same manner?

This seems to be good news for the both of you (G) Keep thoes renders commin! I uninstalled 98 and downgraded to 95 for the most part because 95 is faster. Granted you dont have the web integrated features, but to me, they're a pain to use anyway and lag me down in applications and such.

In NS, yes you can :] If you have your addys in the 98/95 address book you can just drag the contacts onto a disk and transfer.

Ah, just downloaded a bunch of Vickie stuff from your site Trav and realized I haven't got Winzip up and running on this machine yet. Oh, well, I've got a lot of software to get into this machine and out of the Toshiba. Right now Verdie is saving materials and ect out of her computer because I'm sending it to my co-author Sylvia in Canada instead of the 486 I was going to send her. Just maybe we can get Sylvia to explore Bryce and get some picture up? I hope!

Spent this afternoon getting a bunch of stuff into this machine. I have Poser, Bryce, Paintshop, Word 97, Cool Ulead 3D Font Creator in. For the moment the Toshiba isn't connected at all so I can't access my old bookmarks or my address. Trav was nice enough to tell me how to do that. But until then, if anyone would like to re-establish e-mail contact with us, just send an e-mail to drmspinner@earthlink.net so we can add you to the address book.
