Ahh... got there at last, talk about long way round to get there. We could get straight to our own gallery direct from from the member pull down but it no longer exists.

Mmm, second thought, try re-scan at the highest setting your scanner will go, and crop the shot tight around the face and start from there.

Oh My.... That is not going to be easy but do-able. Looks like a full straight on flash. Changing the background might be a good idea but not easy on this picture around the back of the head. Also the jumper will require 'toning' down a bit and the flash bounce back on the face.
Good luck, sorry but I have not time a the moment to play with it, but I'm sure others will with their potato-shop skills.

Hi, When I scan old family photos I scan at a minimum of 600 dpi, sometimes 1200 dpi. Yes the PC nearly dies at this but much better for touching up and then down size for print as Simon stated.

It was not until you said that I can see what you mean about the Plaid, I should have seen it straight away, living in Scotland, land of the Tartan.

Thread: Focus on discipline..trained, learned, part of you? why shoot what you do? | Forum: Photography
Intresting thread and reading,
For me, I shoot landscapes, why, probally because I'm surrounded by it. If I lived in a town, I have no idea what I would do. I would like to do other projects, I have some ideas in my head but at the moment spare time is against me but that will change this summer.
However, if i stumble across a subject and I have the camera to hand, away I go. I'm really itching to do some studio work, but that will have to wait until later.

3Dguy, thanks for that, great link.
Great learning here, that will teach me for typing on the fly without putting brain in gear, now I understand. Thanks.
Putting design head on now, ruler, pencil, paper, here we go....

Simon, never ever thought of doing portriat for pano's, great idea, thanks. However using my tripod would give the problems 3DGuy has stated. The bracket, if I made one, would have to be some 300mm long, because of the type of head I use (quick grip ball, ball to head plate 250mm), to long!!
Another way would be to tie a string around the lens against the camera body with a small weight and mark the floor with chalk, and move the tripod on every shot to the same mark, but this would only work well if you were on flat ground I suppose.
Ah, or even better, use the flash shoe to tie the string as this is just in line with the sensor in the camera, sorry typing whilst thinking about. I'll shut up now.
That's it, of to experiment.
