It's just not true.
Also CP will be part of the deal and will continue on. Also I'll post more on the blog and try to answer questions in one spot instead of multiple forums and threads. I've been a bit busy this morning.
Cheers

Amen to that! Sorry I had to get some sleep after that post. As I said on the blog I think it's a good thing. The dev team and most of the others are staying with the products. Smith is a large public company. It feels like MetaCreations was in some ways, so I'm happy about that believe it or not. We did have a lot of resources in those days and that's always a good thing. The bottom line in most of these things is that the people make the technology to a great extent. It's extremely difficult to pick up a product and start with a new team. My point is is that the Poser team probably could have put the kaibash on this deal if none of us wanted it to happen. Smith is a solid company and as I said on the blog, we bring a lot of value and we diversify their portfolio so it's great for them also.
Poser will continue, for the better. Poser Pro is coming and the next version of Poser (7) will also. CP will go with Poser, and you'll see some major changes to it and the e f site. Again I believe for the better. Porbably not right away though.
take care

You know I'm a big fan of the Opera. :) I'm doing what I can. If it were up to me I'd have you all over for tea and crackers.
P.S. I'm trying to be subtle about my blog. That's where I get to say more about things than I should, but I will tend to say more about things that I shouldn't.
Quote - I love it when Steve posts; gives me the illusion I can grab him, pin him to a chair and get info out of him about Poser's next release.
And also imprint him with my wishlist for the program in his operative RAM.

P.S. Steve, how about tangents and handles on the spline curves??

Poser (1)! I haven't had to buy a version since but it's cost me more than most. :)My first actual content purchase was "Parts and Props". I don't remember why but I had to pay for it. I think I got an employee discount though. In recent memory it was Grace Lion Hair.

Hi everyone,
They apparently had some sort of internal blow up there and someone thought it would be a good idea to take out their personal angst against someone else in such an unprofessional manner. We still don't know what the situation is as I heard this through the grapevine, but I wanted to say that they were not associated with CP other than selling products, which they obviously will no longer be able to do. At least not through us.
Thanks,
Steve

Man what really burns my britches is related to the fact that you are all talking about copyrights. Well I just purchased the basic package to take a look because we(ef) turned this thing down last winter for reasons other than possible copyright issues that I can't go into but are probably obvious if you read this thread. The EULA is exactly the Poser 7 EULA save a name replacement and a resave to PDF. Word for word.
Talk about infringement.....sorry, this could probably could be considered an unprofessional post but I'm just steaming right now.
Laslo can you please write your own and replace it asap so I can get on with my life. I'm currently unable to function.

Again, just not true, try splitting the rotation over the Thigh and Buttock.

Yes there's a bunch of images of some extreme bending on the CP/G2Females forum. In several threads.

It's not necessary to buy the RDNA morph packs. She has FBM's included that are quite versatile, but yes it is necessary to buy P7.

Do you mean the textures? Or Materials? I have some AO based mat sets that I use a lot I could probably post. With some precedural things added in. Like on the cover of the P6 CE box. I really like Syd's default textures and they're very hi-res with plenty of anomalies and I think 8 material sets, but yes variety is the spice of life. I like my women like I like my coffee, and no, not hot and cheap, just a little darker.
I also use those Kaori Blossom textures a lot for Miki which I really like. Mostly I think because of the gloss painted on the lips. I also use some custom lights I made and get some good results with the aforementioned mat sets. I sent a mail to TamelaJ asking what she was up to for Syd but haven't hear anything. I'll try to put the mats on the CP forums for download but while I did set them up for Sydney, they have literally hundreds of orphaned nodes and nodes that proabaly don't do anything. I really need to clean them up first.

"Sydney has old school creasing problems at the shoulders even with basic posing." I don;t think so.

There's some camparisons in this thread and a few others. However maybe not exactly what you are looking for as I am not sure what "old school creases" are.
Sydneys Shoulders are every bit as good if not better. Try a combination of the ABC's, and the dials, and don't pose with the translate tool. Use the rotation tool in Poser to pose any figure, you'll get much better results.

"It's pretty obvious what's happened with V4's & Poser 7's releases. The software makers have found themselves in bed with the content developers to lessen the makers' costs. So now we customers get less for our dime initially and have to shell out a lot more later on to get to a comfort level we're used to with V3 & Poser 5/6."
I have to comment on this one. We have no alliance with Daz, had no idea when V4 was to be released at a such a "strategic" time, and are concentrating on Poser.
We included more content in the P7 release then we ever have. We also included a free Passport membership wich while is only a 6 month membership, entitles you to all the G2 characters, FOR FREE. That includes James, Jessi, Koji, Kelvin, Syd, Simon, Olivia. And the clothing that comes with them. Which I think is 6 sets if you include the P7 stuff. So unless you have a really really slow connection, it's all yours to keep as fast as you can download it.
So... that's a whole bunch of stuff for $129 upgrade price. Not to mention all the other Passport free downloads and discounts, as well as the weekly CP free stuff.
Some of you may say wait... how do I get the upgrade price? $129 I don't actually own a copy of Poser, or I used to own Poser, or I use D|S? Well, we did give away Poser 5....FOR FREE! So unless you were one of the 3 people that didn't get it, you might have to pay $249 for all of that, or find a pal who got more than 1 of the 70,000 or so copies.
And what about MIkiG2? Sorry she's not G2 and not included. Unless you purchased Miki 1 then Miki2 will be a free upgrade. Many people got her at the $19.99 Passport price and used one of their occasional monthly $10 coupons or their monthly rewards credit. Still doable. Did I mention the free Passport membership with P7?
My point is we're not in bed with anyone but our customers whom many think we are constantly out to rip off through an intricate maze of false advertising, pricing scams, and purposely ignored customer service emails. It's just not the case. Poser is a labor of love for all of us. Ok, yes, at times it can be more of a disfuntional co-dependant love/hate Freudian Kurt Kobain kind of thing.... ...............
Which is why the "I love Sydney" thread makes it all better.
Sincerely,
efSteve
