Thread: Problem with morphing forum gift certificate | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Same problem, was supposed to expire at 23:59:59, but it seems they mistakenly entered 23:23:59 as the expiration when they set them up. :(
Glad to see I'm not the only one, hopefully they will be able to help us out tomorrow.
Thread: Can't Use Gift Certificate | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Same here, seems they expired at 23:23, rather than 23:59. Hopefully those effected can get a new certificate tommorow. Anyone with this problem, make sure to post or email before the actual deadline. :)
Thread: The end is near!! Use your $5.00 Reward Code before it expires! | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Mine expired at 23:23 Jul 31, rather than 23:59, so I missed out on it.
I'm wondering how many other procrastinators were effected by this bug?
Thread: The $5 bonus reward for members - Badly implemeted! | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
I tried to use my $5 gift certificate a half hour before the listed expiration of 11:59 pm CST Aug 31, but it says it's already expired! :( (Yeah, I know I procrastinated...)
It says it expired at 23:23, but it should have been 23:59!
Thread: Gift certificate | Forum: Community Center
The gift certificate was supposed to expire 11:59 PM CST according to the front page, but I couldn't use it 30 minutes before the deadline. It says it expired at 23:23! :(
Thread: I can't seem to use the site anymore | Forum: Community Center
Well, I'm in now on my laptop with no problems and I didn't do anything to "fix" it. :)
When I couldn't access the site last night, I also couldn't run a tracert to www.renderosity.com, so maybe it was a localized DNS hiccup?
Thread: I can't seem to use the site anymore | Forum: Community Center
I had the same problem last night on my laptop, using Firefox. I'm accessing the site fine today using Firefox on my desktop. I'll have to try the laptop and see if it's working now. Very wierd...
Thread: OT- Anyone using Verizon DSL in Mass or NH? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm in North Central Massachusetts with Verizon DSL and haven't had any speed problems at all. Just did a speed test and it's slightly higher than my average, up and down. Of course, since DSL uses phone lines, it could be a very localized problem resulting from damage caused by weather, etc...
You may need to insist that they send a tech out to check your signal strength and line noise at your home and at the pole. Because DSL uses a frequency range outside that used by voice communication, you could experience no degradation in voice quality, but still have noise effecting your DSL line.
It could also be a defective line filter (you should have filters that plug in between your phones and the wall jacks). You could try unplugging the phones in your house to see if it effects DSL speed. If it does, plug the phones back in one at a time until you find the defective filter.
Thread: New Look? Garbage! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I like the new design personally.
It would be great if they offered alternate page styles. That's one of the advantages of using style sheets for web page formating, alternative color schemes can be easily offered.
For those who absolutely can't stand the white text on dark background, Firefox allows you to turn the page style off and view the site in a very basic format. Not sure if IE offers such an option. Won't look any where near as pretty, but very functional.
Thread: Really like the new site design | Forum: Community Center
I love the redesign as well, very good job!
The fonts are fine on my laptop, I'll have to check on my Desktop to see how it looks there. Firefox has settings to easily increase the font size on pages you are viewing and I believe the latest version of Internet Explorer dows as well. :)
Thread: P7--dual core? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm using SR2 and it only uses one core during the pre-render. Maybe someone who is seeing both cores during shadow mapping can shed some light on how that is possible? :)
Thread: Sudden double/blurry vision..could it be because lots of poser and computer grap | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
If it was a sudden change, it's probably not just that you need glasses. Is it one eye or both? Sometimes when I'm sick I'll get a little blurring or fogging in my vision. If you have an eye infection a thin layer of puss could also blur your vision. Other infections can also effect the ability of the eye to focus. There are a lot of things it could be. Nothing to panic about, but definitely something to see your doctor about.
Thread: P7--dual core? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - > Quote - Since depthmapped shadows are rendered in a single thread (as you're implying), that's an excellent point I hadn't thought of.
Shadow maps are being rendered in multiple threads.
Not by my tests either. CPU load on a dual core system is only using one core during shadow map rendering, texture loading, etc... The additional cores only kick in once the actual render starts.
svdl already posted the link to the benchmarks we ran. Dual core, or even quad core if you can afford it, are definitely well worth it for Poser 7 rendering. Even if you don't have Poser 7 or other multi-core apps yet, the cost difference between single and dual core processors is miniscule. Multi-core processors really shine with multitasking, if you ever run with more than one app open, the benefits will be very obvious. :)
I think if we aren't there yet, we will soon be approaching the point where the majority of new PCs will be at least Dual Core. More and more applications will be directly supporting multi-cores in the near future, so it's really a "no brainer" at this point imo.
Thread: How do you make an image look like it is on a video screen. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
In PSP, you can add the interference with the Adjust...Add/remove noise...Add Noise feature. Use Gausian, Monochrome, 25% as a starting point, but adjust those settings until you get the effect you are looking for.
For the Horizontal Scan Lines, use: Effects...Texture Effects...Blinds. Check Horizontal, Light from left/top. and make the color black. Width 2, Opacity 25%. As with the noise, you can fiddle with those settings until you find what you want.
There are probably other things you could fiddle with to degrade the image, so if the basic method above is still missing something, you'll have to experiment with other adjustments and effects. :)
