Thread: Target Weld | Forum: Carrara
I've been trying to target weld vertices on a sphere created in the vertex modeler. Some of the time I can select the vertex I want welded and sometimes I have to try 10, 20 times to select the first vertex. Once the first vertex is selected, I can usually select the second vertex. I thought that I might be doing something wrong during the selection process. I have no problems selecting vertices using other tools. I am using my old slow computer. It's a Pentium 4-2.8GHz with 1GB of memory.

Thread: Import Adobe Illustrator file into vertex object | Forum: Carrara
What I do, is import the ai file into the spline modeler and then use the "Convert to another modeler" feature. It's under the edit menu. I some times have to play around with fidelity to get what I want.
I too would like to be able to import directly to the vertex modeler.

Comparison charts as well as any literature on a product  is advertising.  It meant to show the product in it's best light.Â
The question is not which software is better, it's which software best meets my requirements.
Thread: Cannot move objects in C6pro. | Forum: Carrara
Could it be that your Caps Lock key is on. I just spent over an hour trying to move an obect using the move manipulator tool. the hot point would move but the object wouldn't. Then I noticed the Caps Lock key was on. I turned it off and move tool worked fine.
I hope this solves your problem.Â

Voted for you. Great animation. Checked out the competition and think you have a very good chance of winning. Keep us informed on how well you do.

Thread: What are the 5 things you like most about Carrara ? | Forum: Carrara
I like the interface, the fast rendering, the vertex modeler, the shader editor, and bones A feature that I would like is a customizeable menu for the right mouse button.

Jerry, Thanks for the link. I don't consider this type of message as SPAM. Jerry is not trying to sell me anything. He just wanted to share a site he thought we would be interested in. I'm interested in trying the software just to see how my Carrara models would look in a 3d game. Keith

For got a step. You need too loft the 2 circles as well to create the tube through the cube.
Thread: Vertex Object question... | Forum: Carrara
Are you looking for a way to create a cube with a cirlular hole through it? If thats what you want it's easy to do in the vertex modeler. I made one in a couple of minutes. What I did was; first create the Square. then create the circle for the hole in the same plane as the square. empty both. Next loft the square and circle. This will give you a square with a hole in it. Next duplicate the square with the hole and move it up to the desired height. The last step is to select the 4 edges of both squares and loft to connect them. Keith
