Thread: Poser pro 2010 and Poser 7 lockup | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
oddly enough i had it working fine and dandy..fiddled and tested a couple of renders and then POW! it went fubar again! LOL
really cant be bothered to go through the whole SM file a report card and wait for days til you get the same old: update your drivers, check this and that....
its on my pc in the office so ill have a bit more of a fiddle tommorrow....
my win7 64 bit system is hammering Poser 7 just fine, in openGL mode as well...shrugs ill figure it out one way or another.
had the same with Poser 7 when it first came out; and if i recall poser 6 as well..the joys of OpenGL and Vista/win 7. checked the FAQ's at SM and i see the same old answers as well...remove your settings, update your drivers; stab a pencil in your ear til you see god!

figured it out! seems crappy programming of both doesnt actually disable OpenGL rendering completely!
dunno why but there ya go....
so if your encountering the issue this is what to do:
head into your poser config file and remove the extraneous OpenGL settings...
in vista/w7 head to:
users>"username">appdata>roaming>"poser version" and open the poser file therein...you might need to go another folder deeper for poser pro.....usually you will need to right click the poser.cfg file and open it with NOTEPAD
inside you will find a lot of text..look for these:
USE_OPENGL 0
PREVIEW_OGL_OBJECT_BBOXPICKING 0
PREVIEW_OGL_PRELITEORDER_NEW 0
PREVIEW_OGL_HWSHADING_INTRACKING 0
they are listed in order..the first one a good ten lines above the last 3....if you click to use SREED in the preview window that simply changes the value of the USE_OPENGL statement to 0..(by default its 1) HOWEVER! it leaves the rest set to use OpenGL still!!
change all the above settings to 0 (thats ZERO) and save your poser config file...and VOILA!! you wont be using OpenGL in poser anymore and you shouldnt be crashing anymore!
until Nvidia or SM sort it out thats the best resolution...ok you wont have fancy transparency previews...but it works!!

Thread: What happened to the forgefires site? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
im really sorry to hear about that Acadia....
tell me what your after and ill get you a direct link to the files you want...no problem.....
as for the ordering of the freebies......we decided to go that route to allow people to acess freebies and priced store items at the same time, as well as keeping all the traffic located in one section of the store rather than people trawling thoough section after section to find what they want.
on top of that you only have to supply your details once as far as im aware....the store will then remember you.....so it really shouldnt be a huge issue for you to join the store and then have access to whatever files you wish to get.
still, like i say, let me know by PM what you are after and i can link you direct, no problem.

Thread: What happened to the forgefires site? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
sorry, dont often hit the Osity forums....
basically my new host decided that my website was a "file distribution" website and had hidden away in their terms and conditions a ban on such website...they asked me to pull the files that they suggested were over-loading their server cpu's....i told them to stuff it seing as i paid for a 50 gig bandwidth and had only used about 20 gig.....things got heated....so i left ;)
LOL

all ym stuff is now hosted at Startiste, as well as my own forum there for new products and things in the offing and the occasional freebie or two..or three.....

ok i see the text window appear..but it only lists the name of the material section i have selected before applying the wacro...ie: skintorso.... even if i wait maybe 5 mins that nev er changes..and the screen does not dissapear until i close it.... it attaches the map correctly...but only for the chosen material zone... ive tried all 3 methods of running the script...wacro, python window and run a python script and each time i get the same result.... using your previous wacro...bump transfer. i can happily shift click and it work superly...so i dont think its a problem with my poser install or python scripting etc.... anyway...ive uploaded the mc6 file as requested...its just a test with David and Daz's hi res textures for him...tried with both the p4 and the p5 MAT files.... thanks for thisThread: Wacro: Reconnect bump map to "Gradient_Bump" | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
im sure i could if i knew what one was! LOL! maybe im not being patient enough?? how quickly will it go through the model material zones? mega fast or maybe 30 seconds each one?
Thread: Wacro: Reconnect bump map to "Gradient_Bump" | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
ok done a bit of testing....on Poser 6 sr1 the script appears to be working ok...however it will only connect the material that you have selected.....ie skintorso.... it doesnt seem to connect all the bump maps for the figure...ive tried running it with "shift click" as a wacro..and also as a standard python button....any ideas? or have i been really stupid and not done something?
Thread: Wacro: Reconnect bump map to "Gradient_Bump" | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
wow! you worked fast on this! from what you have written...does it only look for .BUM files to transfer across? or will it just check for a relevant unplugged texture? that should be in the gradient node? thanks for your hard work
