Terrific variety once again! It's nice to see so many types of fractals being represented here, all very nicely crafted works.

Looks great and everything works fine for me, Viv. Nice collection, it's really good to see so many different styles on display here.

What's in a name? A rose by any other name would still smell as sweet and an image would appear just as beautiful. Thanks for the heads up and all of your great work! Jack

I like the one you posted better. The brown tones seem to work better than the blue, at least in my opinion.

Those M&M's look great! Very appropriate for the fall, or for any other season. Not quite fall here in northern New England yet, believe it or not, but it is supposed to get down to around 40f tonight. Lots of fall pictures in another month or so.

Well I'm going to go against the grain and say I like the first one better, her eyes and face are definitely softer looking. What I would do is take number 1 and darken the microphone to add the contrast.

Congrats to you! I'm sure you'll figure out any camera in a short time. I think that they are really lucky to get someone like you with your great sense of color and composition. Go get them!

Very cool! This is the perfect entry from you, you play the role so well on this cover. Great title for the album, now we just need some music!

When I shoot b&w film, which is not very often these days, I always use a yellow filter to increase contrast and sometimes a red for even darker skies. With color a polarizer is nice but I usually forget to put it on. Now that I've joined the digital age I love using software filters or all sorts (thanks!) to get different effects. I don't see any philosophical or artistic difference between physical lens filters and software, they're both just ways of manipulating light. I guess it's like the musicians that favor pure acoustic instruments and can't abide by anyone using electronic processors, it's just a matter of taste. Personally I've never met a guitar effect or a PSP filter that I didn't like!

Hey Kimmers, I vote for no.1. I think the pov and the colors of the boat really stand out against the dark water where in number 2 the water takes too much attention.
Thread: computor problems | Forum: Photography
Hey Jock, I have no idea why it's doing this. Computers have a mind of their own sometimes. Why not start over again, picking the files from their original folders and putting them in the burning software directly instead of into a new folder. Once you get them on CD you can hopefully delete all of those other folders the computer made on it's own. My daughter tried downloading and installing SP2 last week and it screwed up her hard drive so bad she had to replace it. The boot sectors got destroyed so all her stuff was lost. Sometimes these things just do what they want to do.

OK, I'll fess up. I took the test and only got 7 of 10. Some of them were really close, well actually most of them! Interesting things to think about, it made me aware of a lot of things I didn't know before.

Hey Jock, this is a very interesting shot, it really does have that look to it that doesn't want any postwork. Is that a bullet hole in the window? Looks like maybe a BB. The ripples on the glass are very cool. I've been watching the show on TV trying to raise relief money and have really been overcome by a great feeling of sadness. So much death and destruction it's hard to believe. Glad you're OK but it must be a mess even where you are.

Hey Pascale, one thing I really like about you (among many), is that you always say what you feel. Sometimes that's kind of a rarity around here and I respect you for that. You're right, it all depends on what the individual is looking for. Jack
