Hello, I have recently bought the product (Black Friday Sale ) and I am trying to learn to use it. I am having difficulties trying to apply some materials: in some cases, when I drag the material to Genesis 3 male (in the instances tree) I get the following error: Error: node name://%40selection/Genesis3Male: not found It happens only in some cases; with other genesis 3 characters the materials can be applied without problems. i suppose that I amb doing something wrong but I do not know how to solve it... Could you help me with this problem? Thank you in advance! Ramon
Thread: The Future Of Carrara? | Forum: Carrara

It would be interesting if they tried a different approach, such as the selling of a required proprietary part of Carrara, and making the rest open-source. In this way they could make the source code public, and folks can contribute, but they would maintain a core required piece that they could sell. That way the public could contribute, and they could maintain a product.
Poser has a SDK available. I think that it should be possible to build enhancements to the software as an open source collaborative effort...

You can search for Octane in the gallery, here at Renderosity, in order to get a glimpse of the capabilities of this renderer.

 Hello
I think that I have read somewhere (perhaps in the DAZ forums?) that Bryce 6.3 had a bug with exporting booleans.

Bobbystahr, thank you for the links; IÂ have assigned more virtual memory to WIndows, and in fact my disk is badly fragmneted... I will try to save the file after defragmenting it.
Pakled, I am building the scene in small sections (the temple, the temple basement, etc) and then I I assemble them in the larger scene... the numbers that I posted are the ones that Bryce gives when I use the "deselect all" option... I would not be able to track the objects individualliy ;-)
Best regards

Thread: bryce specific refraction settings | Forum: Bryce
Have you read about the new materials (metamaterials) with a negative refractive index?
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metamaterial
These materials could be used to make cloaking devices or superlenses...
Unfortunately, it seems that Bryce does not accept negative values for the refractive index... it would be interesting to see what the renderer would do with these materials :-)

Thread: Can i make a terrain with bryce and save it-and then use it within poser? | Forum: Bryce
have you thought about the inverse possibility? That is, import the figures in Bryce and use the Bryce renderer.

Thread: O.T. MSN cannot store your important emails on your puter without MSN! | Forum: Bryce
It seems that it is possible to read hotmail or msn mails using outlook express or thunderbird, using free software. I do not know if it is allowed by microsoft.
You can also (as AnnieD says) forward the mails to a free gmail account, that can be read with thunderbird or outlook, and can be stored in your computer.

Thread: DazStudio 2.2 released with 100 bug fixes. | Forum: Bryce
Thank you for reporting this.
However, some people say in DAZ forums that Bryce does not work with this new version of DS. Have you tried to use the DS/Bryce bridge?

Thread: Objects that move when changing selection? | Forum: Bryce
Yes, the model has complex grouping... for the moment, locking the objects that moved has worked. I have nearly finished the building, so I hope that the problem does not happen again :-)

Thread: Objects that move when changing selection? | Forum: Bryce
Thank you for you help. I have been trying to follow your advice, but I could not select the objects in order to lock them because they moved whenever I tried to select them. Also, I could not select the family for the same reason.
Finally I have made the following: I have taken note of the position of the displaced objects using and older version of the file. Then, grouping and ungrouping them I have moved them manually to the desired position, and then I have locked them. It seems that now they do not move anymore ! :-)
Best regards
Ramon
