Quote - Danke fĆ¼r die Verbindungen James
lol. a classic babelfish issue.
a link in case of an internet or computer link is also "Link" in german. Verbinung(en) meansĀ something likeĀ connection(s).
so the right sentence would be: "Danke fĆ¼r die Links, James" (upper case in German)
sorry for the lesson. i know, my english is not much better, than your german ;))

cheers, Ć la vĆ“tre, prost
Lenord !!!
one of the pioneers in artistic use of 3d fractals and when i get it right, the only fractalist in moderator team.Ā for sure a good choice!

Quote - Mandelbulb3D and Mandelbulber are 2 completely different programs, I prefer Mandelbulb3D because it is a faster Renderer and easier to use but Mandelbulber hs a more precise Render engine but is very complicated to use, your choice.
i agree theese two programs are very different, but i disagree about the ease of use (for sure i do - i'm aĀ mandelbulber freak). for me as a cad professional the clear cartesian coordinates of mandelbulberĀ are much easier to handle, than the camera oriented (polar?)coordinates of m3d.
i used both programs and as they are different, they both have advantages and disadvantages. some examples:
mandelbulber is best for the simple negscale rotbox - m3d is not even close for this particular fractal type.
m3d is best for all sorts of hybrids - mandelbulber is unflexible in hybridisation, and the calculation time is almost unbearable.
the navigator of m3d isĀ both a blessing and a curse. the navigation and the manipulationĀ of most fractal parameters Ā in realtime are a great benefit. unfortunately at deeper zoom stages you often get stuck with the navigator or it starts to jump around uncontolled. and the navigation in the main window of m3dĀ is simply an impertinence.
deep zooming in mandelbulber works great and isĀ easy. especially in the negscale rotbox the fun begins at deeper zoom stages.
as len mentioned mandelbulber hasĀ a still unreached render quality. especially the ambient occlusion and dof come out almost photorealistic. although you have toĀ love it as it is. the flexibility in changing rendering results is better in m3d.
i like to work in both programs as each gives you possibilities the other program doesn't offer. in the end it's a matter of taste and the goal you are achieving...

hey lenord, you became coordinator here, along with a bunch of new moderators -- hopefully you can help bringing this platform back to life.
i want to join in your eulogy to all these guys, who did nothing less, than adding a whole new dimension to fractal generation.
i guess i'll tune in more often, to see what happens...
see ya

Quote - Maybe I just have a suspicious mind when it comes to irregular activities.
and maybe a suspicious mind is just right in this case. who knows? i spend half of my life doing irregular activities. so this never looks suspicious to me.
anyhow, just wait for the mod's reply. maybe they need to do some research, before answering.

What kind of persons belong to such profiles, i can't say, but i stumbled once or twice upon profiles like that.
i think, this is not so unusual, while i can't say if their intents are good or bad.

Thread: Trojan horse SHeur3.BRDM targets UF | Forum: Fractals
hi carol,
when my memory is correct, uf is able to render in a network with a server and a client. i'm quite sure, avg misunderstands this ability as a "trojan-like" behaviour. further infos i can not offer, but maybeĀ this canĀ take you a step further.
good luck!

another proof of quality. a nice compilation!
a very special thanks to viv and barb (who ever you are). as i am seldomly online these days, the ffw is a perfect summary of what is going on in the fractal gallery. i don't want to miss it!
