Also, make sure that your monitors' color depth is set to "millions" or the card won't work.

Make sure to get the Macnsaller app also, it will copy all the files into their correct file folders for you. And, Maconstructor will be able to work similar to MorphManager with a few additions) like transferng full body morphs. Then check the links at Martins' site for GraphicsConverter which will be able to convert almost all image files to whaeveryou need.

I though the Radeon card was only for AGP graphics slot & needed the G4 chip to run correctly. Does the card work with other apps?

You still need to de-emboss the original image to mak it work correctly. If you have (or know) someone with a MAC OS then you can use the plug-ins for GraphicsCoverter that MartiC wrote. They will de-emboss the green bum & save it as a proper grayscale image that most 3D apps use. You can get the PoserSpeedbump plug-in here: http://www.soft-rabbit.com/

There are more updaters at the Raydream Group, Yahoo, but you need to join first to download them (probably worthwhile). The file site is here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Raydream/files/ They have most all of the MAC & PC files/fixes/importers for Raydream3D, RDS V5-5.5.

I'd use the magnets within Poser itself. They are quite powerful & would be a nice feature for Carrara to adopt. The advantage of working wihtin Poser is that you can apply the deformation as a morph directly without all the import/export hastle.

You might check to see that you didn't import a whole new "universe" with the objects that you imported. Sometimes you end up importing extra distant lights and/or univers "spheres" that are huge. I have an ATI RageProII card & it's OK. Not that the "Metacreations Software" is better to use then the OpenGL software for renders (according to Antoine Clappier).

I've usee it a few times (the full version, not SE) and it's a fairly good app. I do find it easier to work with UVMapper though, at least to create the original texture map and obj to bring into Painter3D. The nice thing is being able to create sections of your work on "floaters" and being able to nudge them into place.

I'm on a MAC & there appears to be no problem working with "PC Only" obp or mat files, haven't tried any sky presets. I do have some trouble with a few obp files but they may just be corupted files. The only thing that will not work is the exe installer versions (StuffitExpander can open some exe files, not the installers).
