What I am trying to do is simple. In short... make a collection of dforce skirts for Dawn using the poser dynamic skirts I had made originally. I can get the prop skirts to fit Dawn during the sim process if I've morphed Dawn's body, say for instance make her fatter. However with the skirt I am experimenting with to figure out the process in DS should I give Dawn the same slightly fatter look, the prop skirt will not sim to fit Dawn's body. It'll follow her pose beautifully, but not her body shape.

Well not looking at different figures, looking at one figure different body shapes, and I don't really mean something like G8 to V8, what I mean is more like say Maisy for V8 (for example). Though I am thinking you are right.
I have my reasons for not wanting to go to the DAZ forums.

Oh, I know I can make it work. ;) I've been playing with it already. I just need to know if I need to make it conforming or if I can leave it as a prop and get it to follow the morphs, not the poses, of the figure it's on.

Theoretically you could extrapolate the UVs for the thickness from the original UVs. As they would be the mirror of the original with just an edge joining the two parts.

It is something I've noticed in all versions of Poser, sometimes, a save and later reload will show the new texture size in preview but not always.

I would suggest reporting the bug so the developers have record of it and can work on it.

Oh! I actually do have a question still! I was so thrown by the rendering quality difference that I forgot the other thing I wanted to ask...
When I'm applying the morphs to V4, only the head is applying. The body and cleavage options aren't changing the shape at all. I'm applying all by double-clicking.
What might be the reason for that?
Thanks!
Have you injected V4's morphs? Not the character's morphs, but the figure's. Morphs++ etc.

In his other scripts you right click on the destination then browse to where you want to save.

Folks Poser 12, helps cut down on the time factor and the graininess that is inherent to SF. The have a post fx option that denoises the image and gets rid of the graininess, they've also improved the rendering speed.
Also, if the Cycles root confuses or scares you, try using the physical surface root, it's more like the poser root node, though easier to use as it does most of the work for you. Take a look at my store for decent SF renders. All the SF renders were done in P12. The longest render times was for Spring Fling, and it was still faster than some of my older FF renders.
