Thread: The Old Underpass | Forum: Photography
Cool underpass Prank I cant help thinking you need that speeding car rushing through or a figure walking out into the light just to give a bit more interest to the shots. A nice record of the place and #1 has a definitely creepy feel about it. :0)

Two really nice pictures Daniel, I like the tight crop on the subject, which really emphasises the colours and shapes of the leaves. Like your berry picture the DOF works well here too. :0)

Sorry Michelle, But I must agree with Don, The first image is really suffering in my opinion with the inclusion of the bright burnt out sun, it just holds your eye and you dont see the fantastic tracery of the back lit grasses which in themselves shout sun. I appreciate this is the way you wanted to present your work but I would ask you to consider this. If you were to print this in B&W would you print back to the paper base? As for the black area I would personally make a tighter crop removing it and the bright highlights. I hope you dont feel I am being critical I am only trying to be constructive. Great titles not sure where Jordy is coming from ;0)

Thread: Is this too blue? | Forum: Photography
Good to see the comparison, I guess this just goes to illustrate the printers dilemma. Both pictures I feel work the cold blue of the first giving a feeling of dusk and the oncoming cold night the bright snow whites of the second giving a much brighter feel. I guess there are another 10 versions that would work, nether of these are wrong or right, both are a matter of personal taste. :0)

Michael this does look a little blue, but I like it, it adds to the cold feeling of the picture. Colour casts are all down to taste, in the darkroom I would often tint pictures just to add to the mood of them, I guess this id still true of digital work. The question is a bit like, is this printed right? Its all got to be down to personal taste and I personally like this. Just can't wait for the Snow here in the UK. :0)
