I can see both sides of this. It would be very frustrating if it happen to me. I think somehow camera mfg. could help with this by writing to the EXIF data the camera se#. I know my camera does this. Then the photo finishers can have EXIF viewing software to view the SE# and you can have your camera with the SE#. Sure EXIF data can be changed, but it is some protection for the stores. Would be nice if this data could be embedded as write only. This of course would mean having your camera as proof, when you went to the photo-lab or having your SE# on file, so the photo lab could match them. I sure don't want to be in a pissing contest with a clerk with an agenda, so something is going to have to be done.

Onslow - Thanks for your kind comments. soulofharmony - Thanks! With my wife, I agree the darker background would have worked better I think, but my wife picked the background. You would think the photographer should chose, but I was lucky just to get my wife to pose. lol!

lak - Thank you. Doug - Thanks. Note taken on the contrast. The background set is as follows: Screw to decorative hooks in the ceiling. Take a 8' PVC pipe and screw hooks on each end, and hang from the ceiling with a simple chain. Then I draped a piece of dark gray fabric over it. This was the back drop for my daughter's shot. My wife of course wanted more color, so we went to Wal-Mart and bought a 12' x 6' piece of the colorful fabric. I draped this over the dark grey as the color fabric was quite thin. Viloa one colorful background. tibet2004uk - Thanks, I have always like contrasty prints myself, but know this is not always preferred. Carlos - Thanks. Yes I used 3 lights. One main light at a 45 degree, one fill right next to the camera, and a light placed behind the subjects pointed at the background.

Thread: Difital SLR...35mm auto lens or the "digital optimized" one. Any difference? | Forum: Photography
While I haven't seen any of the new Digital lens, I do believe they may help in a small way. (Maybe more than I think) but I am going to be very hesitant to purchase any, since lens can last for years, I do believe that in the not to distant future that full size sensors will be the norm. I have no fact on the above statement, just a feeling.

Tom, I do not have any first hand experience, but the local newspaper's sports photographer uses this lens. I have seen some of her work, and the photos are sharp and clear. As far as operations, such as focus speed, etc. I do not know.
