I have read several mentions of the GPL here. The GPL DOES allow EVERYONE to sell stuff put under GPL, they just force him to tell everybody he sell itz that he has the same Right too. If someone here puts his stuff under GPL, any kind of commercial gain is allowed. The GPL just states that everyone can give copyleft stuff away for free or for money. So the GPL dos not help you at all to protect your work, it just guarantees that your work and any other work which is based on you work, can be given away for free OR for money by EVERYONE. So few people here would use the GPL.

Could you import an animated model from poser to vue and still keep the animation, without exporting/importing each frame?

Since you have an old Pentium 233 MHZ your board will probably not be able to cache more than 64 MB. You should check that before you buy the memory, because your computer will become a lot slower if the second level cache does not work properly. Just look in your manual and try to figure it out before you spend money.

Hello Erik, after testing both bryce and vue with the available demo versions i've chosen vue as my renderer of choice. I just like the user interface with 4 views, the renderer seems to be faster and the materials dialog was more understandable for me. I've had smaller problems when importing figures from poser, but I managed to handle them with UV-mapper and 3D-Explorer. As smallspace stated here earlier, poser likes to export OBJ, Vue likes to import 3DS, although importing as OBJ works for me most of the time. Your figures should not share the same material though, otherwise you will not be able to map them differently.

You are wrong... but if you have that model with 20 maps I would like to see it.... My model has just seven Texmaps. And the model IS very simple. VMRL models have to fit into the memory of the 3D Accelerator graphic card.....

Sorry if anybody saw it earlier posted.... the problem was, the pic that i submitted was just too large. Nearly 100 k for this was a bit much... so I jpeged it to death.... 24 K should work fine....

Sounds as if you have a file problem. What kind of OS do you use? MacOS? NT? maybe it tries to overwrite a file which is write protected? Try it again from another directory, that could help.

Here is how I do understand this. I do not think that posting pics here means that you use a freebie in a commercial way, otherwise you could sue us all here.... Don't redistribute means exactly what it says - you may not give the mesh to anyone. Even if it is given way for free, the author does not want you to do the same. You may not give the model to anyone, everyone who wants to have it must get it from the download places the author provides. Hope this helps....

I think that the Pro pack has the potential to attract the Pro's. You looase the Kai Krause interface, get 3D-Card support and can use skripting - sounds impressive to me.

The main problem ist that the animation looks like a horse with a different head not like a deer. It moves like a horse and has the body of a horse. Seems strange to me... Sorry if I nitpick.
