Ok, is there something like P3DO that will take a MAT file and make a PNG from it for the folder, that is comparably priced and "idiot friendly?"
Thread: Gym Props | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I think I'd like the weight bench set too if it's available somewhere. Could I be included in that list?

I'm really interested in these wings...let me know when they are available, please. Will there textures?

This is a great question! I'm just now experimenting with Dynamic hair and wondered the same thing.

I didn't notice the thing about the load time. I guess it partially depends on how much stuff is on the hard drive, and it's always taken what seems forever to load either P4 or P5 on my laptop. I still think we need something that we can point at a particular item such as a prop and have it find all the linked files and delet them in one swoop. I've got to much on the HD and need to get rid of about 5GB of stuff I don't use so I can replace it with new toys...heheh...

I agree. Baseline Firefly renders are much, much quicker and some of the other "slowbies" such as finding P4 files are much quicker. Hey, I'm impressed. Nice job, CL. And since I don't have the slightest idea what a lot of the other topics based around SR4 are about, I'm reading them carefully trying to figure out these obscures bits and pieces in case I need them at a later date. I'd still like a nice "idiot frienly" tutorial on the Material room, however.
Thread: Notes for a newbie.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I agree that a folder system is a necessity for keeping track of downloads and installations. That's one of the reasons I updated to P5. Without going into the philosophical argument of "feminist vs. masculine thought processes in hierarchical file structuring" (and believe me, this is a MAJOR debate in many fields of upper academic thought) I created file structures in my downloads folder for Poser, then broke it down into generic topics like automobiles, aircraft, animals...etc., then broke that down even further into specific types of items, then into manufacturer if possible. With purchased goodies I repeat the basic concept and use the name of the site that I purchased the items from as the top level folder. So, I have DAZ/Characters/Vickie or /Michael, with /V2 or /M2 inside there to seperate the versions. A little time consuming to create but it makes up for the nightmare of trying to figure things out later. Just my thoughts as I try to finish the last 18 pages of my graduate thesis. Thread: Can I transfer files directly between my desktop and my laptop? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Y'know, I've been wondering this very thing myself! I've got a laptop and two desktops in the house, all use Windows XP, and I've got different files on each that I need to move around. I asked one of the "gurus" at the campus and they gave me a twenty minute lecture on home networking and stuff, but never actually answered my question. So..here goes...all I actually need is this cable, the RJ45 double-male, and I should, theoreticaly, be able to "see" both computers and move files back and forth with a few mouse clicks? Do I need to go into Network, name both computers, then looke for the other one when I make the cable connection? Please, if I've missed a step somewhere, let me know. I'm geting a little desperate on some of this stuff. Thanks!!

Oh.....Rocky! How Could You?? Great work. As a "survivor" of over 250 showings of RHPC (and who's lost their teddy bear pen holder) I think this is wonderful. BTW, RHPC was broadcast on FX (a satelite dish network) this last week. Something I never thought I would see.

Thread: Mara Jade? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had Mara once but could never get her to work. There was a file that wasn't either with the zip or on my hard drive...some catsuit file. Looked like a great figure, though.
Thread: What's in YOUR wallet... or... How much did you spend on Poser this year? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not nearly that much, but then again, I get the lovely academic discount for software. Poser 5: $200 DAZ: $200 If I had more to spend, trust me, I would...there's about $400 worth of DAZ and at least that much at RDNA I want, along with everything at Sams3D and IGW43D. And then there's that extra 529 MB of RAM and the new Hard Drive....but those will have to wait for NEXT fall's financial aid when I start the PhD program.
