Subject: Product update pricing

Good morning.  I have what I hope is a quick question.  If you purchased an item and the creator updates it, what would be considered a reasonable price to pay for something you already own?  As an example, I have an earlier version of the Jousting Grounds in my files.  Today I noticed there is an update version just released that is only available for Studio.  The original was Poser.  Should I have to repurchase, or should there be a discount or free update for those who already own the product?

Thanks.

I assume you are talking  about product at DAZ, since they don't have anything by that title here.

Going by SKU, it does not appear to be an update, but an altogether new product.  I do not find any earlier version of the product in my archive database.

Maybe Design Anvil will pop in here to clarify matter.

Hmm, its an all new, all original product. I am not aware of a Poser product of the same name would you have a link by any chance?

As far as answering your question, I would guess it depends on what you are getting for example a product that is a full remake with new geometry and textures, i would expect full price. If an update just added some slight changes to conform with new application editions or something of that level I would expect an update to be either free or a very small charge.

Thanks, folks.  When I find it on the backup CD, I'll let you know where it came from.
