Agreed! Keeping things simple always works. We should not have to write their manuals for them.
Thanks to all the artist that share their talents and tutorials for the rest of us to learn from.
I agree wholeheartedly. More help and instruction comes from the community than ever came from the source. I may be dating myself here, but I remember when software used to ship with a manual. and the help menu was not a link to a wiki.

Well, just to let off a mini-rant, simply put, where it comes to manuals, Daz support simply sucks. While the program is wonderfully intuitive in the way it's interface is setup, I think it would be a lot better if they would use *chm files for help format. (that's the standard help window you get in most programs) instead of just pdf files and wiki's. Chms also take less resources than adobe reader and browsers.
rant ends

Cool. I just picked up the figure setup bundle for $62 US (roughly $64 Canadian). The only thing that's got me a bit puzzled is adding standard morphs, like Bodybuilder, Amazon and whatnot. Will those have to be made using the hex bridge? I know Daz has the morph loader and whatnot, but they aren't categorized the same when they're added, they all get lumped together. In fact, I've never tried to export a pose file that's been fit using daz tools. This is where I really wish Daz had a real cloth dynamic system, In Poser, you can load a welded mesh, run cloth sim, than save as a morph target.
Funny, I've had Hex for quite a while and I've never used it. No excuse now, lol.
Edit...I'm just having a look at your sharecg page...wow, nicely detailed models!

Yes, I should have clarified:
Daz doesn't rig without the plugin, whereas poser will. Cararra models and rigs. I wish It exported rigging though, that would be handy for sharing with poser/Daz users. If you want to make something rigged for all three apps, your still looking at using multiple apps, one to create, and another to rig and texture for Poser/Daz use. One app to handle all three would be nice.

there are several DCG shaders I have my eye on, those are nice! I have the sparrowhawk ones, I'm going to install those and try em out. Thanks for the links!

To be fair, I use Daz 3 quite a bit. While it's not a modeler or landscape editor like Cararra, it's handy for putting together a scene, and the light and shader systems aren't bad at all. Poser rigs which Daz doesn't, and neither cost as much as Cararra, which is good for the hobbyist on a budget, like me. I got lucky and picked Cararra up on sale for less than half price at the right time, otherwise I wouldn't be enjoying it right now.
But, jt411 is right, Cararra does everything D|S does and more. I know I'll be using Daz less as I get to know C7/8 more. It would be really nice if C did a better job importing D|S scenes. so far all I ever manage to get is a pair of boots. I'd love to re-render all my D|S scenes in C8 to see the difference.
