Thread: Marks on the geometry of a dynamic fabric | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
Thank you for that link, Primorge.
I've never got dynamic cloth to work reliably, and I've already seen a couple of reasons why...
( Like exporting from eg Blender, there are many failure modes... )Â

My Profuse Thanks, every-one. Elucidation dawns. Several useful 'Lines of Enquiry' to explore....
( My secret dread was quaternions: I can sorta hack MMD/PMX rotations thanks to an online math app, but prompt migraine ensues... )

Hey, we have a clan of 'Poltercats': If not stuck down or in a clip-lock lunch-box, Consider It Moved...

Thread: Poser 11 - How to transform/import .duf files into obj | Forum: Poser 11 / Poser Pro 11 OFFICIAL Technical
I prefer DSF Tools, but that struggles with high-poly meshes, does not provide an MTL and often mangles complex scenes.
Although DS' UI gives me a prompt migraine, here's my recipe for using that route...

Thread: Help please How to install and use my victoria 8.1 in poser 12 pro? | Forum: New Poser Users Help
Yes, it's a 'Crazy Eddie' notion, but why not ??
Seems like something Poser could do using existing 'clothing' tools, albeit 'recursively'...

Thread: Simple cylinder not able to export to scuptris? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Tangential, this Sculptris problem resembles my hair-tearing forays into using TurboCAD (2016) to edit OBJs for Poser.
I've just spent a week trying to 'top & tail' a 'kneeling pew' so I could 'book-end' several free-standing rows: A) chop kneeler off back row. B) truncate front row.
But, exporting such trivially 3D-sliced OBJs some-how scrambled the meshes, so that import to Poser created 'ST-TOS Transporter Accidents'. Bad as a sad FBX...
By accident, I found that importing edited OBJ to a different 3D program (eg $$ 3DOC) and promptly re-exporting usually de-snarled the mesh...
Worth a try ??
This is WIP of 10_metre span hall, to illustrate a story. I've timber trusses, opening clerestory windows, a Nantes-ish 'walking labyrinth' and a big, big central mandala, the latter to contribute Lovecraftian tentacles when the splinter sect's off-piste ritual 'Breaks Bad'...
Thread: Watermark for your SuperFly Renders | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
FWIW, free Irfan View has a facility for adding watermarks.
IIRC, recommends using PNG version with alpha channel...
YMMV.

Um, probably a silly question, but does the Gen_X clothing rigging issue also apply to Poser 'dynamic' clothing which, IIRC, are pure, un-rigged OBJ ??
I've never used Poser 'dynamics', the work-flow makes my head hurt, but their potential...
What if you morphed a Poser figure to mostly match a Gen_ X imported as OBJ mannequin, then dynamically draped Poser figure with that OBJ ?
Would it not take textures of the Gen_X, plus conforming clothes of the base Poser figure ??
Thread: Render times of gpu compared to cpu is lopsided | Forum: Poser Technical
Some belated thoughts: Please check using eg Task Manager that your CPU renders are actually using all the CPU core threads they should.
As I mentioned above and YPhil & Co seriously extended, CPU and GPU renders may need very different 'Vols & Buckets' settings. For Superfly, Progressive on this now-ageing twin-GPU system, I set 1024 unless Poser crashes / renders blank, when binary chop until happy. For CPU-only here or on network-render 'Box', 64 of each seems optimal, as more disables use of multiple CPU threads...
FWIW, I like 'Progressive' as I can tell within seconds if render will look good. Or, yet again, yet again, 'Needs More Light'...
Thread: Why are you still using V4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
"Which Order are you deciding to represent ?"
Just generic cultists...
From WIRS#12 (WIP): Tim's neighbour Ashlee wanted some advice. Her friend Danni's cousin Lynne has 'Gone Dark' at a 'Meditation Retreat'...
"No. If anything, Lynne was getting disillusioned. Said they were, 'Totally Creeping Me Out'."
"Anything particular, Danni, or just poor food and bad hours ?"
"Oh, those, too, but they had this crazy belief about an approaching 'Singularity'."Â
"Oh ? Sorta '2012' stuff ? 'End of the World is Nigh' ? Apocalypse Pending ?" I offered.
"Sorta. When the 'Stars were Right' or something, their mandala maze would open, they'd triumphantly process to a 'New Eden'." She shrugged. "Supposed to be at the turn of the year, midnight of the Solstice. Didn't happen..."
I felt my nape hair crawl. There was 'Weird', and there was 'WIRS Weird'....

I routinely port DS props to Poser as OBJ, but I've despaired of getting figures across other than as 'store mannequins'.
Worse, DS' FBX export seems to misbehave more unpredictably than Poser's FBX import...
There is a route I've not tried, too busy with other notions: Mixamo has a semi-auto rigging facility, which you give a figure as OBJ, work through the long process of nudging its 'estimated' joint positions to compliance then exporting as FBX.
YMMV...
Thread: Efficient way to set bones | Forum: Poser 12
If, like me, your wits 'lock up' trying to comprehend such arcana, there's also the free, semi-auto OBJ rigging facility at Mixamo.
Down-side, is rigged as FBX, so export in 'oldest' version...

I'm about to use a dozen-of V4 as a procession of 'nuns' AKA Medieval Robe + veil in a 'walking labyrinth' i'm crafting...

It's a 'Cambrian Whatsit', about eight times older than the dinos.
The PhysOrg link will take you there.
IMHO, that time was almost as 'alien' as the aeons before the 'Great Oxidation Event' terraformed our planet from hypoxic to something we might sorta recognise...
