@Cyn: thank you very much .. never noticed that link ooops @Francesc: Of course, you're absolutely right in what you're saying. If there are 3 excellent pics, by all means, they all should get their well deserved vote. But you're none of the average user, nor is Cyn as you're thinking about what you really like. It's the image you vote, not the user. Sorry if anyone feels offended ... Btw.: a voting from you is something i'm very proud of .. hey, you didn't see my smiling after reading your comment! Please don't get me wrong, this is not about me getting votes ... i'm (by now g) not good enough to be next to enax, cynlee, michelle, davidhate, dholman, logiloglu and some others ... and that's the kind of quality i'd like to see after clicking on "hot 20".

Thanks Cindy. I'm starting to see the light g. If you'd be so kind to point me to that "hot 20" ... can't remember to see something like that ... or is this the thing, Misha is doing? Still confused somewhat ... ;) As a compliment, the vs are great .. me thinks. But where's the use of them, if i do give a dozen per day? Of course, one cannot force the people to limit themselfes without the tech-guys .. and even that will not help for all that friends and the like as you've said .. but if someone needs that ... hmmm, sad but funny, isn't it? hugz, Tom :)

Thanks a lot Michelle! That's what i wanted to know. But considering the prices of printers in that category, i'll have to stay with that lab for a while sigh Thanks again! Have a great day, Tom :)

Wondering about your prices Michelle (some misunderstanding on my side i guess :). I get 3045cm (which is pretty much like your 1218") for 3 Euros these days (digital delivery via web or CD-ROM)? At least over here, there's no way to beat that with printing at home. Of course, quality on a really good home-printer ain't visibly inferior, i agree in that. What about durability? All those printer-companies these days have great ads about 10 years or even 75 (Epson) .. the only thing is, i don't really believe them ... so what do you think about that? Do you have older printings?

With a body-guard like that, nothing can happen .. even if it's another black panther ... sigh .. but back on topic: great interview the both of you have done. A lot of fun doing it i'm sure, even more fun for us, reading it. Thanks a lot! hugz cappuccino

I'm with Cyn at this one. This is about photos .. so it's inevitable that the filesizes are bigger than on other websites. 160k on your compilation is smaller than a lot of the single pics, posted in the galleries. Additionally, your posting has a title saying what it is. If i'm in a hurry, i'll stay away ;). Of course you could remove one pic or another, but that'll get not to much and will be very difficult to decide .. i'm sure it already is ... No hugz from me g, but another bif Thank you Misha!

I still don't understand, why u are using two different pics? Use one, duplicate it, convert the second one to b/w .. Or is it, your trying to work on a pic, that came b/w out of the cam? hmmm scratcheshishead :-) If i have to choose, the second one. In your first attempt, the red is to week to me. hugz Tom

That's why some people need a truck to go shooting Zhounder / Wolf :)) 300D with battery grip Tamron 28-75/F2.8 Canon 75-300 IS Sigma 105/F2.8 Macro Just the usual filters, cheap tripod and lots of lens-cleaning material as i seem to have fingerprints anywhere .. sigh .. and some silica-gel - wish we'd have some better weather over here. Great story ... reminds me of trying to cut it short in Sardegna two years ago. What seems to be half a mile got ten of them without any light at all through thorny macchia without ending, carrying two mountain bikes .. but at least, as we were on sea-level .. the risk to drop down from something was very low ... ;) Thanks for telling Wolf!

How do you make this? I'd add the b/w-version in a second layer above the coloured one and would than remove the b/w-zoom-tower with the digital rubber. Won't lose you the colour and (maybe) is easier than the way i fear you're using?
hugz, Tom :)

I agree with Misha and Jinx. Taking this shot and saying it's ruined is far from what i'm able to do ... but of course, i do know what you're feeling .. it happens on every level of knowledge :) Tom :-)

I can just give you the german titles, dunno how they are called in the US or in canadian french .. sorry ... but in searching for the authors names, you'll find them i guess. I liked the "National Geographic Foto-Guide - Landschaften" (Landscapes) by Robert Caputo a lot. Also it's small and very cheap in comparison to others. No easy book (to me) but a great one! Another one i've read recently is "Die Kunst der Landschaftsfotografie" (you may translate that to: the art of shooting landscapes) by Chris Coe. It's a little easier, more accessible than the other one, it has the better pics and very good comparisons of what one can do better (good vs bad pics of the same place) .. but i still love the first one a little better .. a very tiny little bit ;) There are great Books of Fritz Poelking .. but i don't know, if they are published in foreign languages as he is a german author. I do have two of him .. still reading. Seem to be great .. but i can't give you a final result by now. Best Regards, Tom :)

Mark, yep, i got that point even if it really hurts. I'll browse through the exifs of my pics next weekend and look, if 200mm could be sufficient. Otherwise, i'd go with Randy and give that slide-zoom a chance. The spare 200 Euro can be the Potatoshop CS - update .. could make that option even sweeter. Misha, how about using no telezoom at all and just enjoy New Zealand (carrying a small standard-zoom)? g Just dreaming ... Best regards and thanks again to all you helpful souls out there!! :) Tom

If you need more books, i can give you some hints too, but i'm not really sure if all those books i like are published in Canada .. so i'm waiting if you find enough info in the book Michelle posted ... it's on my whishlist too (sadly, there's no translation and i'll have a hard time understanding all that in english .. sigh) ;) Tom
