@LostPatrol: thanks a lot. I'll browse through the links! :). The content of your main link is almost correct. But it's the other direction i'm going. I'm coming from Fireworks and try to import in Photoshop. @3DGuy: PNG is the native format of Fireworks. In this format, all the layers and text is editable and movable in individual layers. I need it that way in a PSD too as the printing-studio needs access to the text as text. For this reason, i cannot use TIF or JPG which otherwise would be an option, yep. Thanks a lot to the both of you!! :-)

Raven_427 I realised after I posted that it was going in the wrong direction oops! I do a fair amount of work on a PC help forum so have become quite adept at finding things, although I do make the odd mistake! There is quite allot if info on the adobe site (too much to post) that may be relevant to your problem, search their knowledgebase with "font" It maybe that the font that you are trying to use is damaged or corrupt and needs to be re-installed manually. I did see a reference that mentioned that when importing work into PS that using PS default fonts minimizes the risk of issues occurring. I dont know how much time that you can afford to spend on this, but it may be worth giving their tech support a call. (Link provided) I must admit that their sit isnt the easiest to find stuff on. Good luck LPA very big "thank you" Lost Patrol. I don't think it's a problem with the font or Photoshop. I tried the same transfer with Arial as font .. the same error. For that reason, i've contacted the Macromedia-Hotline. No reply for now but in the meantime, i've started to redo that whole thing in Freehand. Should have done it that way from the beginning but it seems, i had to learn it the hard way. Once again Thank You! Great to have helpful people around. Please, if ever a may be of any help for you, don't hesitate to ask me! Tom
Your welcome, I just do what I can (if I can) I havent got enough pennies in my pocked for PS yet, but when I do I will probably end up back here Best regards Simon

Sorry if i'm wrong at this place with the following question but as most of you are working with PS, i'll just ask :-) Problem: created some calender-pages with Firewoks MX (bad choice - now i know). As the printing-studio needs an EPS-file or at least a PSD, i'm trying to export my PNGs from Fireworks into a PSD to use in Photoshop. So far, so good. Opening the file, PS complains about a missing font (which is definately on my PC - even reinstalled - no change). Taking that layer and selecting the font i want manually makes that layer jump to another position. So it seems, as if the font name and the position of the layer is wrong within this file. (just as an info: it is not an option to reposition the layers in PS .. they are around 800 in 14 files) Tried that with a PNG-file, simply containing one word .. all the same. Tried that on another machine and with different versions of PS (6, 7, CS) -- all the same so i guess, the problem is the PSD-Export in Fireworks. Exporting it without keeping the text editable is no problem .. but i need it as text. So what? Did anyone of you hear of such a problem or know of a solution / workaround? Two weeks of work in those files so i don't really want to do it all again. Best regards, Tom
