Will have to try this out later... been tinkering a little with control maps to modulate skin textures for Roxie... mostly, so far, regards trying to achieve some pore and surface capilliary detail effects... that I want to work close up and also from full body view, etc... without needing super huge color / bump / disp maps... just been trying to get to grips with 3d painting in Photoshop for the control maps... but not got a lot of time just now...
...freckles and moles are also on my agenda there... good to read this thread...

Personally I think freckles look great. Which is just as well... my missus is ultra freckled after all the sun we had this annum...
I really like the texture you've got there TreckieGrrrl... a bit darker would be good...

Ah... ok... I see what is connected where now, sorry.
How much darker do you want the freckles? I think they look okay in the preview render?
What does the blender node preview look like? That'll show the blend, no?

Hi TrekkieGrrrl... sorry, but I'm finding it hard to see exactly where you're plugging that spots node in there... is it just being blended with the color map node, prior to the rest of the EZSkin shader, that is then processing that color map?

Just got back from France and it always makes me determined to improve my grasp of the language... then life gets busy again!
Oil painting is something I used to do... and I miss having the time and space to do it in now. You should definitely give that a go! :-)

A method of saving the weight map data separate to the rest of the cr2 and importing the data as (an optional) part of the convert to weight map process would be useful I guess?

I guess there's pros and cons to the bearskin mapping? Am I right in thinking it boils down to a compromise between issues with stretching and having seams??

Great dalek render Monsieur Sparky!
I've seen at least one Hovabout model at Project Dalek...
Personally I like the fact the NSDs hover / fly... I think it makes them more menacing.
Although as a kid, their lack of flight cemented the notion of their tank-like nature.
There should most definitely be a proper real-world venue exhibition of Dalek fan-art somewhere!!
