Good idea - thanks! It does seem to help to break the head or skullcap up into several groups.

I agree - Don is much better looking than Michael! Did you turn "Remove backfacing polygons" off in the render options? That may be all it is, but I'm no pro, especially with materials.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'll check out curiouslabs. I've already done a web search and found some tutorials for ray dream that I was able to use.

The only real bug (at least I don't think it's me, but you never know) that I've noticed with P5 is similar to this one - the hair I've created has a tendency to zero itself when I save the project. If I exit Poser, start it up again, and reopen the project, the hair is back in place (unlike yours). This was hair I had created on a skullcap, so it's a prop like Cousin It.

The top hair's going through her head (that's why she has hair coming out under her chin. This happened to me too. To get this to look the way you want it you'll probably have to create a few groups - maybe one for each left and right on top that you can pull to the side and down, then one more going around the sides which you can pull down like you have it here. If you've got the hair on a skull cap, the skull cap may be sitting too low as well.
Thread: Just a couple images, regarding Poser 5 with Vicky | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Someone pointed out to me that if you raytrace the shadows in the light properties for the light falling on the face, the nose won't glow. With the strand hair this will make it take a looong time to render. I haven't played around with it enough, but if you had one light on the face and one on the hair, then maybe you could get away from the long render time.
Thread: Poser 5 and Victoria 2...? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I didn't have any luck bringing in models that I'd made adjustments on in P4 into P5, but I've only tried once. I tried saving them as character files first, but P5 wouldn't load them. I ended up just saving them as pose files and redoing the morphs in P5. Hopefully, someone's got a better solution for you.

Just saw your second post. I didn't have any luck trying to open up a Pz3 I'd created in Poser 4 in Poser 5 - I have a feeling the path names in the Pz3 don't work.

I haven't had any trouble with Victoria in P5. I understand she won't work in the face room, only the P5 figures will work in there. Not sure what you're trying to do? I also have my entire Poser 4 Runtime in the P5 library. If you try to just load Victoria I suppose you might run into problems because P5 won't know where to look for everything.

I have an Athlon Xp 1800, Windows Xp with SP1, 1 Gb ram, Abit Siluro video card which uses Nvidia drivers. Motherboard is an Abit KT7A-RAID with Via KT133 chipset. I haven't had any problems. I was using windows 98 with Poser 4 until just a few weeks ago, and used to lock up all the time. Switching to XP fixed that. I built my system, and from lurking around various pc newsgroups video cards which use Nvidia drivers are fairly notorious for causing all sorts of problems, don't know why, since they're so common. I had to put in my 5 year old Diamond video card to get XP to install on my system, and put my AGP card in after it was installed. Poser 5 has slowed down on me and taken a long time to refresh at times, which makes me think it might be a "Poser feeding data to video card" problem that's plaguing so many people, but who knows.

DAve-So - Don't know if you saw my other message in the "p5 crash" thread (we have pretty much the same system), but I installed Poser 5 first, then XP service pack 1. Also - my video card is an Abit Siluro MX 400 64 mb and I haven't updated the drivers.
Thread: OK 'Fess up if you've had poser 5 crash on you.... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Dave-So - we have almost identical systems, except I have 1 Gb ram. The only crash I've had was when I still hadn't set my preferences in Zone Alarm and ZA was still trying to get a response from me while Poser 5 was loading. I shut down Zone Alarm, set my preferences before starting Poser up again, and haven't had any trouble since. Don't know if that might offer any clue. Did you check your task manager?
