hmm.. i wouldn't recommend any windows programs look-a-like for macs, due to the fact that windblows itself contains very many virusses which are harmfull for the user-friendly macintosh, but if ya like the extra work, your free to do as you please ... virtual pc with windows xp for mac os x costs as much as the artmatic pro program, which is named to be a fractal program on steroids smile another fractal generator for macs runs in the cllassic mode of mac os x and under mac os 9 ... program is called spangfract, which you can find at http://home.cinci.rr.com/fractalman/Programs/ i use artmatic pro myself, which you also can find at http://www.uisoftware.com/ review is at http://www.creativepro.com/story/news/18327.html and you can combine it with artmatic voyager, which looks like terragen... greetings, Harmen

isn't posting remarks meant to be to improve your skills, and share knowledge with each other? if not, the we should have two different galleries, one gallery to brighten up someones day and caress the ego, and the other for fractal designers who wish to learn from others ... i dont think its appropriate to bash someone private with remarks about your own stuff after ya have said, pretty image, but the framing is trash ... or trash someones work after that particular person has been mean to ones friend ... a war between people will take place as soon as ya say: i get back to you, because you didn't like my friends design, or i lost a friend because of you, and now i am gonna trash your designs ... because thats what happened here, to start with ... thought we all could handle pretty much everyones comment, its not a trashing one, but to give the ability to communicate and to show where things could improve your work ... if you don't like the comment, just say 'only nice comments please, i want you to make my day' LOL greetings, Harmen

well seems ya have to like the performing art, and if ya put in comments like, framework is bad, and could be better, and even offer a sample on where ya need to correct, they say, your low and styleless, and trash your own art for no reason, but they don't dare to do that in public ... any criticism should be honoured and taken for notice to improve your art and style ... and not be punished by threats saying: thats against the rules, i'll see what i can do to ban ya ... if your a good artist, you have to stand open for criticism and if you cant stand it, you should not publish ... greetings, Harmen

lol most votes are 'kissing-butts' votes, i have seen pics in the hot20 which had a lot of designing mistakes... if the design is unique and awesome, and the finishing touch is perfect, then it deserves to get in the hot20 ... but i personally don't really care much about it ... i check in there often to see if someone accidently voted for mine LOL ... i know some are always in there every day, and i wonder if some ppl take it for granted ... wish some ppl would really be honest with their comments, rating and voting have a nice day smile Harmen

^^ is guilty as charged, due to a lack of english language, i expressed myself by a VOTE to show my admiration to Matts work, NOW he doesn't like that me doing so, and therefor i promise myself never to VOTE on Matts work again, nor will i ever place a comment with the same admiration into ANY work of Matt again, for he surely DOESN'T appreciate me doing so ... LACHUH HE?

i have had comments like that too, but ignored them, anyone does what he pleases i think, whether violating or with permission, i know there is always a risk that someone might use yer image or design for their own purposes, but i am sure that they will never get the chance to post it in here, for thats against the regulations of renderosity, and may you be able to find it, you can report that to one of it's moderators ... anyways if or when i see any of my 'borrowed' designs in one of their galleries, i call it a 'rape of my design' and will treat it that way also :-)) unless i have given permission to do so another way is to watermark your design, and thats not hard to do at all Harmen

Yeah, i bet it's this 'narc' dude, who just becomes a member on the 8th just to annoy some people who are really trying their best to perform their skills to create something wonderful, that GRRRRRR moron commented on my g/f's bryce design as well, and you know what? He doesnt dare to put any of his so called work in here, but is just here to annoy people, they are just tossers, and should be ignored, rather banned from getting any privileges to be able to trash talented artists... But there are creeps like that everywhere, and it's so very annoying to see something downrated which ya worked on for days, just because they are having fun with that. wonder what this community really is, a community for fractalists or for artists ... if ya say only for fractalists, i have to go to the 2D community, for i do a lot of postwork on my images, combining 2 or more fractals into a design is an artist work, and fractalists uses formula's to produce some sort of a design ... and not everyone has the ability to use a UF or a FE program and has to do something else to get as close to what everyone produces here in these galleries ... so a discussion whether something is a fractal or not is a waste of time, and totally uncalled for ... and besides if ya have spend 24 hours of making a fractal the way you wanted it, and put an extra hour of postprocessing on it, ya have done minimal postwork ... smile
