Ahhh, like those "get a free Dell"? I get that stuff all the time in my email. One of my friends checked it out and found out that you had to subscribe to a credit card that super high interest rates.

Wooo whooo!!!!!!!!!!! I am all for saving disk space!!! I have multiple runtime folders. How will that work for those? I'd like to compress those too. Plus I save my .pz3 files that I'm working on my My Documents. Should I save them elsewhere?

But I don't see anything at either of those links about Poser 5 being offered free.

I didn't even notice that sale, LOL I spent my credit already on some textures for the MFD and DNA MFD. I have both of those outfits and I have total confidence in the merchants I bought those from and have always gotten what I've seen in their "promo images". BAut now that you mentioned sale, I'll go look again. I still have some April poser budget left ;)

I don't use these files outside of Poser. I use poser, save in .png and then use my graphic program. Is it safe for me to check that "use file compression" option in that case?

I have purchased a large number of items from various merchants and have had nothing but good experiences until this one. I've had some problems with files either not being complete, or something corrupt in the zip, but a quick PM or email rectified the situation quickly, and the merchant was very nice to deal with...friendly and concerned. I would rather not have had to go to management to rectify this one situation, but the comments said to me after I requested a refund, left me with no other recourse. This situation hasn't tainted me to all merchants, but I won't buy anything from that one again. It seems their ads are "promo" and don't depict their items accurately. When I buy, I like to know what I'm getting up front. I don't want to go to the Jaguar sales store and find out that the $50,000 price tag is for the right rear hubcap and stearing wheel, but the Jaguar car isn't included... it was just used in the promo images. I'd like to see promo images depicting the results of the package itself without post work. Then I'd like to see some thumbnails that show the potential of the package done as the merchant sees fit. This way there is no misunderstanding as to what the buyer is getting.

It's fixed now. How Poser Pros addresses the issue with the merchant is internal to their site. My only concern is that merchants be up front with what they are selling and not hide it in the small print or readme files. I'm all for promotional images too, because I like to see what can be done, but those types of renders shouldn't be used to advertise the product, especially items that aren't even part of the product or the outfit the product is for. I got some nice new textures for MFD so I'm going to go off and play with those. One can't have enough textures for that dress, LOL

Not sure about that. If they read this thread, they should, because as is, it is misleading.

Thank you :) It's all fixed now. The texture pack now has a statement indicating the hat is not part of the outfit and has a link to where it can be found, and it also states that the package does not include textures for a hat. I also got credit to which I was able to put towards other tems in the store for things that I actally could use "as is" with things I already have. I'm pleased with the way management handled this situation.

Thank you :), but I was really interested in the outfit that was shown in the ad images, and the tricone hat (or even the other hat without textures), isn't what I had my heart set on.

Thank you guarie for rectifying this matter for me. I appreciate it. I really only intended to get some advice here before taking further action. I wanted to make sure that I wasn't wrong in how I was interpreting this. I can live with making mistakes and "buyer beware", but not when I'm left with a feeling of having been mislead into the purchase and then basically told by the merchant to suck it up and learn how to read and that it's not their fault that I interpreted their promo images as something more.

Exactly, which is why I bought it. I wanted that outfit, and once I realized what I bought was textures and that I needed the pirate outfit from PoserWorld, I thought that I had that outfit.

Just for the record - the hat, I believe, is from Netherwork's La Femme Corsair for V3 outfit.

Which is an additional $10.25 purchase to achieve what Boundless shows in her "promo" images. That's not to mention that she shows co-ordinating textures in her "promo" images for that hat, which wasn't listed anywhere in her store for that pirate outfit texture.

And Guarie, I sent you a PM over there. I didn't know how to contact anyone over there other than the merchant, and I had a hard time finding your name in the memberlist; I had to go page by page through more than 200 pages. Message edited on: 04/07/2005 18:30

Well, they refuse to do anything about it. They claim that their image is a promo image and it's my fault for not reading properly. I won't be buying anything from this merchant again. I'm disgusted.
