Even if credit cards are used by someone else to buy stuff, wasnt some law or ammendment passed in the USA in 95 or smomething, gauranteeing that any victim of credit card theft, whther or not they report the card stolen in time, NOT be liable for any damages inflicted (aside from a 50$ charge or something)? Don't quoteme cause I'm in canada, but maybe someone else can shed some more light. ry

Java script shouldn't be a problem on any host really. Without java script, and average page won't function, and all we'll have is a personal page with resumes. If you want a really wicked program, look up Macromedia Fireworks. The macromedia site offers a 30 day trial download of it, and as far as I know, the 30 day timer is the only limit. Complicated roll overs and menus systems, the java script is written by Fireworks itself, and the script is then custimized for whatever you want to export it to (Dreamweaver, Front Page, Note Pad, etc). Take a look at ti. judging by what you posted, it looks like you very well might be using it already! By the way, forget about photoshop for the web. Fireworks is the king for the web. Photoshop is best used for print. Ry

Why don't you guys set up an IRC line? I personally don't use it, but IRC chats get a decent amount of publicity, and it gives users the ability to trade pics directly. I don't use IRC at all really, but it is worth a look. Ry
Thread: serial numbers | Forum: Community Center
The downside of it is that if someone has a duplicate serial number, someone's gonna get cheated out of help from the techs, usually the 2nd guy who gets it, because he can't exactly provide any of the required personal info.

Thread: Bink (language, and re post) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
After using Bink, I've realized a limitation of the demo. It takes the last 10 frames or so, and makes everything black with the Bink logo. To circumvent this, I'm gonna re-render it all, only with 30 extra frames of nothing. This way I get my whole intended animation, and I cant delete the Bink logo part using premiere or any other video editing software. Otherwise, the quality of the video considering the amount of compression is uncannily incredible. I'd estimate like 10% loss in quality, when considering my 250meg 9 second animation was brought down to about 2 megs, that is what I'd call, "results." Works great for me too dude. ry

If you wanna do shadows properly, do them by hand. Think about it, if you use a drop shadow filter, everything goes on one layer. I recommend zooming in and (albeit, painfully) drawing in your own shadows. Filters can be good, once in a while, but I've never seen a drop shadow filter that was worth using. ry

Thread: Hello everyone | Forum: Photography
This picture was done with two negatives under the enlarger light. The "snake skin" efect is actually my friends plastic pillow (with several hundred staticly clinging beads inside it) in front of a light bulb in pretty much pitch dark. My scanner, which no longer works because its a piece of s#!t, is nothing special. I probably scanned this at 300dpi, but jpg quaity is nothing special. As for lack of grain, I dunno. The actual image is an 8x10 print, but the prize is actually a nice 16x20 print. Absolutely my favorite print of mine. The actual print is on AGFA Semi-matte (gotta love the blacks in it), from 35mm Ilford BxW 400 film. Id put some more prints up, but my scanner's been busted for about a week now, and the ones I have are either monstrous TIF files, or bad scans of good prints (in my mind at least). au revoir, a prochaine, ry
