Thanks for the feedback y'all. I don't have room (large enough data storage device) to back up the whole 3.84GB Poser folder unless I burn a series of CDs. I do have the extra characters and such backed up to LS120 and/or CDR. So I'm still needing some verication that I can upgrade a second installation of Poser 4 with the PPP elsewhere on my system so I can use both versions to have a way around some of the problems I've read about with the PPP. I am on a PC btw.

Yeah, I bought the charger map and can't get it either, seen another complaint about the same in ab3p newsgroup. The url has an obvious typo so I'm guessing that is the problem. Two letters in a folder name are transposed but since it's one of those generated urls, fixing the transposed letters and pasting the url won't work to get to the file. I emailed DAZ about the problem. I bought Michael's second clothing pack this morning too and it downloaded ok so not everything is buggered. Diana

That's a neat character, a bit specialized so it would definitely be an impulse buy item for me. I just wish it was in Zygote's store 'cause it's too much hassle at BBay. I'm normally an impulse buyer and when the impulse strikes, be it 7:00pm on Saturday or 3:00AM on Sunday morning, joining some group, waiting on approval turns me off so I've never bought anything at BBay despite being interested in items I've seen advertised there in the past. I can't get past that sign up page, just turns me totally cold to have to get yet another password, another site storing my personal info, yada yada yada When I take the time to fill out info at Zygote, I know in a few minutes I'll be playing with whatever it is I am buying, that's the satisfaction of an impulse buy. I spend plenty $$$ at Zygote because they deliver immediately and don't even make you sign up for any membership to buy, no passwords either 'cause I have never created an "account" with them because I don't want or need to. I type in the info one order at a time and that's the way (uh huh uh huh) I like it.(uh huh uh huh) (I'm hoping you're old enough to know the song...) ;-) I have the same problem with Vista Internet Products where there's some great models but I have to wait on a CD to be shipped for an internet order?? Doesn't make any sense to me to make people wait on a CD, figure that should be an option not the only method. I have high speed access, I have a CDRW, Zip and LS120 disks to save downloads on, I don't want to wait on a CD - I want it NOW! Because I won't get my instant gratification, I haven't bought anything there either. Other folks might have the patience to deal with those stores but not me. Just wanted to let ya know why I won't buy the character even though I think it's really nice.

Yep Bloodsong, it's really worrisome when you get your stuff sent back to you four times because their server is down in the middle of the contest, then when you do resend, no autoresponse to let you have peace of mind that your hard work had been received. This was after I found out I had to rework an image because the wrong dimensions were given on the original contest web page, it was an exercise in frustration but I've learned a few things. ;-)

Is Zygote going to post a list of winners soon, even before posting the images? Even if they are contacting people individually, it would be nice to see the list so we had confirmation we lost and can go and lick our wounds and use our art for other stuff. ;-) I don't think I'll ever do another contest again like this, it was my first and it was way too much pressure to not hear anything, not even an autoresponse to let me know that they actually got what I sent in after so much work and waiting this long.

egads, I submitted the preview for the 4400x2500 pixel version it asked for on the page, downsized to 800x455 to be proportional and stay under that 800x600 suggested size. I am really bummed because Poser wouldn't render over 4090 pixels in any direction and I had to do all post processing on an upsampled from 4090 to 4400 width image. No way to get those dimensions now without cropping some of the original image out. It wasn't that I couldn't lose some pixels in it anyway but the overall image won't look the same - might be better though, that was a very odd shape to have to fill, especially when Poser couldn't handle a lot of characters and props and render that large. I knew it would print long and narrow, I thought they were going to do some caption or artist story under the images and print at 400dpi from the way it looked when I test printed the image. I don't know what to do now, that image wasn't great, but it could have been better if I didn't have to choke Poser trying to render it so much larger than it needed to be and could have kept to a standard landscape dimension. It being so large made me back off on more props and details in the image to keep Poser from choking which it did twice when I tried to add just one more thing. what to do what to do...

No, it's not transmapped hair, wish it was! Both the hair and mustache are raster images with transparent backgrounds layered over the rendered bald headed Michael image in Paint Shop Pro.

Thanks Foxhollow, I downloaded your morphs. You have some cool mouseover buttons on your pages!

Yep, I'd say emailing them would be a good idea Eric, if only to prove you tried to complete the order on the given day and the store didn't cooperate. I did email them this morning and sent a screenshot of my order with the coupon expired showing. Zygote has been more than fair to me when things have gone awry in the past so I'm confident they'll recognize the problem and handle it appropriately.

scrandall, I didn't buy anything either, I emailed Zygote about it instead. I'm not going to walk away from it either, it said "through" and that is inclusive of the 5th. If I work Monday through Friday, I'm not off on Friday, believe me. ;-) It would help to be more specific in their offers like offer begins 12:00AM Central Daylight Savings Time Tuesday August 1, 2000 and ends at 11:59PM Central Daylight Savings Time, Saturday August 5, 2000. No arguments on through, to, etc. Since we are all over the place on time zones, one man's August 5th is not the same as anothers so this would make it much easier to deal with.
