a sphere is probably the hardest thing in 3d to UV map, just think about trying to flatten out a basketball it can't be done without either stretching the surface massively in areas or cutting the ball into strips. neither makes for easy texturing.
Thread: Help: modified joint centers don't allow for bending of toes in morphed SP3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
oh wait you are applying this shape as a morph? sorry I didn't get that at first, no you cant change the jointing for a standard morph becouse the joint effects the mesh before the morph. so the mesh is being deformed by the joint as if all its points are in their origional position. no this foot wont work as a standard morph, you could rerig the figure if the morph effected the mesh before the rig and there is a way to do this in poser. but it involves editing your cr2 Manually what you need to do is go into the cr2, in each bodypart is your morph channel and a lot of other morph channels. as well as the joint channels at the very end, if you go in there and move your morph just below all of the joint channels, repeat that with every bodypart. I recommend cr2 Builder for modifying poser file hirarchy. http://www.geocities.co.jp/Bookend-Ohgai/9483/tool/CR2Builder/02k/index.html

basically the green sphere should cover only the area you want to move a hundred percent with the bone, and the red sphere should overlap the green sphere some and cover only the area you want to blend between a hundred percent to zero percent. thats a pretty simplistic explination but it will give you an idea of how to go about working. the best way to learn is to study existing rigs and see how they are set up, and see what adjusting them a little bit does to the joint.

have you modified the falloff zones of each rotation as well? those don't move with the joint centers but have to be moved independantly.
Thread: pose folder | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
everything going poof sounds like Poser 4 or Propack, which were limited to one layer of folders in each library, from poser 5 on you should have no problems with any amount of layers of subfolders.

actually the black widow was by me.Thread: Poser fusion for C4D | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
why use fusion if you have IPP? IPP imports a fully rigged character, it will import almost any poser file with virtually as many features as Poser. Fusion imports a frozen mesh (or a sequence of frozen meshes in the case of animation). this is the primary reason I didn't see any reason to buy PoserPro because I already have a much more capable solution for C4D.

Im sorry I wrote the wrong thing what I meant in step 5 was select your V4.2 Link library. (going back to fix my response to you in the daz forum too. :P )
Thread: need help desperatly with v4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - > Quote - Have you inject the morphs from daz victoria 4 pose folder??? Old V4 had her morph in the figure, but now you need to put them on like old V3...
Actually V4.2 took a step backwards. With V3 if you were using a character addon, all you had to do was click the INJ morph for the character, you didn't need to inject all of the head and body morphs for the figure. On occasion I found a freebie that required injecting the head and body morphs before you could use the character addon morphs, but I never encountered a commercial package like that.
With V4.1 you didn't need to do anything but load the figure and inject the character addon.
With V4.2 you have to inject the figure's morphs before you inject the character addon ones. So it seems it's gone backwards in time.
thats only true of products that were built for V4.0 or V4.1, its just that most merchants produced their character add-ons before DAZ went back to the Mil 3 system of offering the ability to only inject the morphs one needs rather than loading the figure down with everything, so most didn't have any need to include readscript code that wasn't needed for V4.0 or V4.1, with V4.2 developers can go back to using something like Injection pose builder to load the morphs along with their settings. Which system is best is certainly arguable, personally I like the ability to only load morphs I need rather than weigh down a figure with everything, and if I have a character that was designed for V4.1 I simply load a figure that has been preloaded and resaved back to the library.
Thread: need help desperatly with v4 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
are the faces saved in pose files? if so they can be applied to V4.2 once you apply the morphs++ pack, if not perhaps explaining what form the faces were in will help us figure out what you should do. were these faces that you created yourself by dialing in the settings and saving the figure back to the library? were they commercial packages you purchased?
Thread: Loading selective ++Morphs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
actually the instructions in that link aren't right.
here is what you need to do.
Creating Link Libraries and IPB Prep Pose.
1 In Poser first make sure that you turn off save external Binary morphs in your preferences.
2 Load V4.2
3 inject all morphs
4 Save back to library
Â
5 In IPB Open saved V4
6 Select Create New
7 Fill in dialog
8 When Choose a file comes up go to !DAZ/Victoria 4 folder and select one of the pz2 files in that folder.
9 This is the PIA part, Select all the expression morphs.
10 You are done creating a link library but you want to do one more thing create an IPB prep file. Do this by selecting Tools create IPB Prep Pose. The pose will be created and to save it simply select your new Victora4.2 and hit save.
Â
OK this is done, you never have to do this again unless you install new injection morphs which you want to use in your characters.
Â
Creating V4 character.
Â
1 create your character with Victoria 4
2 apply your IPB Prep pose, your character will disappear but that's OK, the dial settings are still there just the deltas have been removed in order to speed up the IPB process.
3 save your character back to the library.
4Open your character in IPB
5 Select your Victoria4.2 prep file.
6 For settings I use the defaults, except also check Exclude Zeroed Channels, and also I tend to use Selected actors only and select the Head and Body, since I don't tend to set morphs in the other body parts. This tends to clear out the jcms which weren't zeroed.
7 Process Options.
8 Save Injection pose.
Thread: Loading selective ++Morphs | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
you have to add her to the library first, otherwise it won't work but its not that difficult to do so. and yes as I said I have successfully created characters and saved them with Inj pose builder.
Johnthecelt,as far as dial cleaner that doesn't do what you think, what that script does is simply hide any channels in a saved cr2 that dont actually have deltas loaded into them. the reason for the script is that Poser automatically unhides all morph channels when you save a cr2 or pz3 even the channels have not been injected. which means that the next time you open the cr2 or scene you have dials that do nothing showing up.

Attached Link: Injection Pose Builder
Injection pose builder availible over at DAZ is the tool to use, it will create an injection pose of just the morphs which are not zeroed. that way in the future you have an injection pose for your specific character which will only load those morphs. it doesn't mention V4.2 but I have used it for her as well.Thread: Stupid question time about SreeD | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
the big difference is that SreeD doesn't display transmaps at all. and the lighting is no where near as accurate but frankly if it works better for you for posing than thats what you should use. its only display mode, has nothing to do with final render.
Thread: Question for MAC Computer Users | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
there is a level of smoothness and ease of use built into the mac which makes it a pleasure to work with, more like dedicated tool, The PC is truely clunky by comparison. but saying that I still stick with the PC because most of the software that I like to use is developed for the PC platform. I am tempted by the intel macs now though with the ability to run both platforms.
