I was using the older version and downloaded the newer. But I found out that wasn't really my problem. You're all going to think I'm really dumb...But I didn't know you had to use the object that came out of UVMapper instead of the original. Oooops... Oh well, its a learnin' Thanks bunches for your help!

Actually the squares did cover the mesh lines, but for illustration purposes that part of the image was shrunk smaller than the original map. I'll try that flipping stuff. Thanks.

Jaager, thank you for you generous offer and I may take you up on it if I can't figure this out for myself. But I'd like to try to figure this out (with everyone's help) myself first, so I really learn it. If I can't, I'll send it off to you. Lemurtek, the dress is created in Cinema 4D (GO version), and I' ve had that less than a week, so I don't know if it creates uvmaps. And the manual is pretty uninformative. I think its assuming I know all about 3D stuff - HAH! UVMapper creates a map after you drop it in. Again, I haven't much experience with UVM but sounds like you have some good suggestions and I'll give them a try. Thanks for the help, I love this place! ct
Thread: new Vickie dress and a couple of questions | Forum: Poser Technical
Thanks for replying, Jim. I'm using Cinema 4D and as you can see, I'm on a Mac. I'm not sure about applying the materials in c4d, but if the maps can be any size, then why isn't poser adjusting this one to fit? As for an .rsr, Macs don't generate them, I believe the PCs will generate the .rsr the first time the new object is loaded. Thanks for the info, any help is always appreciated. ct BTW sorry about the image size which makes the viewer have to scroll to read the message.

Here's the word on that dress (link below), I decided to post the question before working out bugs. Its too different to just post a cr2, and probably now too different for a seed file for mover. Got some great guidance, though. If the suggestions don't work, I'll start a new dress asap! http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=135428
Thread: age old copywrite question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Wow! Thanks for the response everyone. I'm saving this page and filing it with all my readmes for future reference. After I had spent long hours on it, I realized I couldn't just simply post it. Like I said, its been a great learning. I just purchased Cinema 4D yesterday, and pleased with the ease of use. Last night I started a long loose sort of hippy dress for Victoria (to wear with her ankle boots, of course :) I will try the MacConverter thing, thanks Martin, I might just be emailing you. Thanks for all the compliments.

Uthena, Your texture has great potential, and I remember you liked the dress I was working on to use it for. I've been out of town and having some snafus with it. But I also realized I may not be able to post it as it is constructed out of the formal dress and the sweater, and I believe I can't post that as an object. Note: Its not simply the sweater over the dress, but taken into RD5 and cut up, stretched, reattached and some new bits added. So it is a new piece, independent of the first two, but possibly not different enough for me to post it. I will post an image of the dress in the next day or two if I can get some bugs worked out of it and ask if it is a possible copywrite infringement. If it is, I won't be able to post it. However, I do plan to learn how to make clothing from scratch and have learned quite a bit lately. My interest is period, medieval, and fantasy style clothing. And I plan to post these in the Free Stuff section in gratitude for all the things I've downloaded from there. Please don't scream, we'll help you out. So after buying your cousin, brother and best friend their gifts, just slip a little hint what you would like for YOUR birthday! Wynter -->envisioning you with a Zygote Costume CD in your hands :)

Very nice! I like the lighting and camera angle, too. A great first attempt. You say that dress is in PoserWorld. Time for me to take a look around there again. :)

Very beautiful. Great posing and enviroment. Love the flow and natural feel to it. However, I agree about the lens flare. I feel it distracts from the beautiful sky and tends to overpower the image. Great effort!

Thread: Brycetech: Question about format of new poser tutorial | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I both download PDF files and save non-PDF tutorials as a web archive. I then print print them if I deem them worthy ;-) Then I put them in a 3 ring binder as I find it difficult to be switching from Poser or other 3D app to look at either a PDF file or a something saved as a web archive on my screen. Graphic intensive doesn't bother me, worse is a tutorial with no graphics. Sorry, need that visual aid. Hope this helps.
Thread: Victoria and mapping problem in Bryce4...HELP!!!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi there, I recently encountedred the same problem in Bryce when I imported Victoria. All that showed up on the quickie renders were white eyeballs although I could (control+click Mac) and assign textures to irises and pupils. I thought, "oh, well I can paint them in", but in the final render the textures did show up. There is an explanation for this in a thread that you might find helpful. I know I did. Check out this link. Hope this helps. http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=131066
