There's too many movies that I like. Depends on what mood I'm in n' stuff as to what I'll watch. I'm suprised nobody's mentioned Clerks (or anything with Jay and Silent Bob lurking around, for that matter) or Office Space yet... I'd go on, but I've seen a lot of my other fav's mentioned already.

Thread: Free aircraft anyone? | Forum: Bryce
I probably could do a jet version... It wouldn't be much harder than swapping out the fuselage part for a different one, ditching the prop and landing gear, and adding engine pods. The tricky thing might be modifying the lower wing and new fuselage for retractable gear (I suppose I could be lazy and have an in flight only version.) Heheh... Sometimes it's funny how remarkably some aircraft are shaped alike. I've seen what appear to be kit planes that follow this layout. And I'm sure I've seen the jet versions on TV. (Business jets at the airport here still look like the typical Learjet configuration or are identical to the smaller "regional" commercial jets.) My guess is that the same overall layout could work in different aircraft with only a few mods to accomodate the size, propulsion method, and operating speed.

Thanks A.S. Now I wonder what happens to my freebies once people get 'em. I know people are going and at least looking by the hit counters. But I've yet to see one of my models used. I wonder if people just collect these things or what? Not that it really matters, but it's one of those curiosity things.

And if there was a way to even disable that, you'd have to consider that some folks are clever enough to use the screen capture abilities of their 2D program. The best you could do is make a tube of your own (a logo of some sorts) that you could use to watermark your images. Fight fire with fire.

Ok... All done... All you need to do is assign the materials you want or UV map it, etc (unless you like the blinding white 100% ambient Wings default material.) No cockpit interior, but hey - it's free. :)Your friendly neighborhood Wings3D nut.

Heheh, cool... Just something inspired by one of those kit-plane type deals that I've seen at the local airport. I'm not sure what design or model, but for the hell of it - I'm calling it the "Aire 404". (Name has something to do with subtle internet humor.) It's a pusher prop type plane, for those of you who never seen these before. So the cockpit is at the front. I modeled it in Wings3D, if anyone cares to know how it was made. I'll upload it to my angelfire page as soon as I get the folder put together.

Thread: Moon in Bryce | Forum: Bryce
You could use a sphere texture mapped with the moon. Kick up the ambience a bit. And then hide a light source somewhere around it for good measure. Dunno how well it'd work, but it couldn't hurt to try.

Might also try looking for some program called "Bryce Librarian". I still haven't got it setup though, but downloaded it. (I guess I haven't really filled up the library yet.) Supposedly it allows you to add more directories in the library. Which means you'd be less likely to hit the ceiling. The program needs some kind of visual basic code as well to run. You might need to download that too. Sorry about the loss of all the work, but look at this as an opportunity to start anew.

Thread: Help with thumbnails please | Forum: Bryce
I also use Paint Shop Pro for my thumbnails (and postwork too.) It's not too complicated. Just resize the image so that the largest dimension is 200 (dimensions should be constrained.) Rather than using the Save As> command, I use the Export>JPEG command to save. (the same is true when I change my full size pic from .bmp to .jpg) As this brings up the wizard screen where one can adjust the compression level. That way I adjust the compression to the minimum amount needed to bring the thumbnail around or under 10Kb (and 100kb for full size pics.) The neat thing about using this is you can see how far that you can push the compression before it starts getting blocky or distorted.

Thread: Do you like romantic places? ;-) | Forum: Bryce
Myst was never really an action game, it was one of those puzzle type deals... Graphics shmafics! What really makes a game good is it's playability. Some of the ol' classics were cheezy as hell, but if they were fun to play with friends and involved a bit of skill - how it looked didn't matter. Asteroids, Combat (anyone remember Tank Pong?), Mig Alley Ace, Space War, Civ, Scorched Earth, etc., they were good in their day and I'd play them over again if anyone had the ol' computers to run them. I guess people expect eye candy all the time now... I must be getting old (and I'm not even 30 yet.) Anyhow, when it comes to modern multiplayer first person shooters - nothing's cooler than Battlefield 1942 (when its played over a cable modem with a good connection on a 'puter that's up to par.) You actually need to work as a team with people, and there's no homing weapons - but some really nice powerful ranged artillery and aircraft that take a bit of skill to make useful. Now if only some people would scout better...

Thread: need help with smoothing problem | Forum: Bryce
Ever change the smoothing angle to the left of the smooth button to a lower angle value? I see from the pic that it's maxed. I think it means that angles 180 and less will not be smoothed. (I could be wrong, since I usually don't mess with that setting and just hit smooth.) Try dragging it down to 90 and see if it works.
