Thread: Boolean | Forum: Bryce
Booleans have been part of Bryce since vers 3. I cant imagine them being taken out now. I dont have 5 yet, but in 4, theres a pop up window for each object that allows you to reset its properties, including making it "negative".
Thread: Poser Bluescreen/Masking Techniques | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When you do your work in Photoshop and you create your mask, use the "minimal" function and decrease the masks size by 1 pixel. That will clear up the feathering on the outside.
Thread: Can I Export a Model, that I have created in Bryce 5 to *.obj or other format | Forum: Bryce
I had heard of some utility that was being written in the UK that would allow Bryce models to export to VRML, but havent been able to find anything specific on it. Anyone?
Thread: Help... new to Bryce and it's driving me nuts! | Forum: Bryce
Almost everything in the sky lab has a slightly less omnipotent counterpart in the sky menu. What specifically are you trying to do?
Thread: Plea for help | Forum: Bryce
Unless something changed from vers 4 to 5, the ambient lighting shouldn't change. Look at the ambient setting and make sure it's sufficiently bright enough; there are other places to redo the sky color to make it sufficiently dark. But Ive used a solid black sky with a white ambient light, and the volumetrics worked fine.

Track down a copy of GREEK ARCHITECTURE by Lawrence, published by Yale University Press. I just completed a similar project and this book was a godsend.
Thread: Import Wavefront problem | Forum: Bryce
As noted in another thread, I read on the Poser forum that if you put your .obj and all its textures into a folder, it will import into Bryce with textures intact. I do not know if this works, but it seemed to come from a reliable source.

Thread: Poser to Brcye? | Forum: Bryce
I havent tried this yet, but I understand that if you create a folder with your .obj file and the textures used in the file, it will import into Bryce with the textures intact. As I say, I havent tried this myself yet, but it was mentioned in one of the Poser threads.

If you would allow... Alter the camera angle so the horizon line is approximately one-quarter to one-third of the way up from the bottom of the working window: this will make your point of view far more dramatic. Because of the lack of shadows, Im assuming the raptors have been added in post work; if this is so, then go back to Poser and export them as .obj files, then import those into your Bryce composition. This will provide you with the means of making the lighting more dramatic and consistent. Finally, given the distant haze, Id suggest adding a ground-level fog to the piece: nothing more than settings of 10 and 70, but you will need to play with them depending on the scale of the Bryce piece. Give it some color, such as a medium gray, so that it maintains a presence without being overwhelming.

Knife in one hand, bow and arrow in the other, the supermodel-cum-huntress kicks up her stiletto heels and races deep into the forest. Please forgive my finding levity in the image; no offense, only amusement, meant.
Thread: Huge problem with Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sharen, I export from Poser 4 on a Macintosh and havent seen the problem youve encountered. I dont run ProPack, so I suspect it may be some conflict between Poser, the ProPack, and your system software. That doesnt necessarily mean Windows; it could mean a conflict with another piece of completely unrelated software thats forbidding you to do some Poser command. I realize it sounds unlikely but Ive seen it happen on both Macs and PCs.
