Okay, I fooled around and around, and using TJ's trans map with a bunch of other settings I got it to work on the eyebrows. They seem to be a bit light, but I couldn't figure out how to darken them. The eyelashes, on the other hand seem to be a real pain. I guess I'll have to keep my eyes open for a transparency maps for those. Thanks for your help.
Thread: Problem with Vicki 2 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Jaager, Perhaps you are doing something that will help me. I use multiple figures in one scene and want to use V2 too. One problem with this is that V2 is huge. After getting V2 to look like an individual how do I go about reducing the file size (fix morphs and take them out?) to something manageable?

One quick suggestion to try is after bringing in the first V2 change its name from Figure 1 to something else. Do the same with the clothes (?) you conform to the figure. Then load in the second V2. Hope that helps

This is a bug in P4 and has nothing to do with Pro Pack. It has not been fixed in any of the patches/bug fixes/updaters or whatever you want to call it. You might want to go to the CL website and remind them about this problem. We can always hope that in P5 they will stop this from happening.

As one who expressed grave concern about your security measures being included in your update I appreciate your change of heart. I know this was a difficult decision and I accept your request for increased vigilance against piracy, warez, etc. In addition, I hope that a better way to protect your intellectual property will be found to support future releases of Poser and the Pro Pack. Thank you.
Thread: Viewpoint Anyone? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Director, It does seem that which camera is used has a huge effect on what gets exported. I was using the main camera to no avail, but when I tried exporting while viewing from a side camera things seemed to be better. I still can't figure out why it is not wysiwyg with respect to what you see in poser and what comes up from Viewpoint. I have also discovered that holding the shift key while left clicking and moving the mouse allows one to move left and right and holding the CTRL key while left clicking and moving the mouse zooms in and out. I have gone to the Viewpoint page and so far haven't found anything that helps me understand the link between Poser and Viewpoint. I'll keep looking there too.

"We have placed great emphasis on identifying and fixing issues with the original release of Pro Pack and have included other features such as numerous additionla Python methods and 3DS Max 4 support." -another re-run- Everyone can profess their love for CL and all their employees... (Seriously, for example check out Anthony Hernandez's byline!) they actually work on the weekends (Now they'll have to with this wonderful scheme of theirs. By the way was that a 7, 14 or 30 day grace period? They've used all 3 in their messages)! They actually read and respond to questions! They might actually have read, considered, and implemented user requests for improvements to the program! But... these are the same people that have bugs in P4 that are still not fixed (anyone for a shoe in the crotch?), implemented a "Trojan Horse" (however, benign) without letting us know (oops... they said), and are implementing a new copy protection scheme in a BUG FIX ("identifying and fixing issues with the original release of Pro Pack"). I bought the Pro Pack without this new copy protection scheme and now to get the program to work right I have to subject myself to this? If they want to state right from the beginning of a PP upgrade (Pro Pack 2.0, not FIX) that this copy protection scheme will accompany the upgrade or for P5 that they have implemented this copy protection scheme, then so be it. Buyer Beware. But, in this case the buyer cannot beware. Yea, yea, I'm sure the wonderful CL people would be most willing to give me a refund. Fancy that...so wonderful. This stinks. You know for all the lousy lawsuits that lawyers bring here's a lawsuit waiting to be filed. Judge to CL lawyer: "Now let me get this straight. You are releasing a fix for a defective product and along with that you are forcing something down your customers throats that wasn't there originally, will hinder the usability of the program, and that they don't want? Judgement for the Plaintiff...BANG... Next Case..." (for the rest om my post please go to C&D)

"We have already publicly stated several times that we will offer a free update with the then-current Pro Pack Service Release that will remove the security system." -worth a re-run- Hate to say it, but that statement is still an empty promise. Think about it...what is "cease to exist" and who determines that it happened? Let's say that Curious Labs lays off 24 people and all that's left is the owner, has it gone under? The owner will certainly want to try to sell it and if a "free update" was released the value of the program would have greatly diminished. Okay, you wait 1 month, then 2. Your hard drive dies, your computer dies, and you get a new one. You can't contact anyone to get a new registration number (yeah, the owner is going to hang around answering phones). How long do we wait for the owner to decide that the program cannot be sold? Another scenerio. Let's say for the sake of argument that another MetaC program ... Painter3D has "ceased to exist". If there had been a similar arrangement back then who would be responsible for providing the "free update", MetaC, Curious, Adobe? If an employee of any one of those did it they would find themselves in court and possibly jail. So when CL goes out who's going to do it? (by the way, in my view there are two kinds of businesses, those out of business and those that are going that way ... however, slowly (e.g. Pan American Airlines, Montgomery Ward, Commodore...) If the "free update" was put "in escrow" with some lawyer with specific instructions that the Poser community understood about what would have to happen to have the "free update" released, well then maybe you could trust that it would occur.

Ahhhh, you've set quite a standard for yourself...trying to please the people around here ... She's pretty, she's ugly, She's voluptuous, she's flat. She's fat, she's thin, She takes up too much space, she's not detailed enough. She's too tall, she's too short. She's too old, she's too young. Her fingers are too long, her fingers are too stubby. She looks like no one, she looks like everyone. She took too long to appear, she's buggy. She's too expensive, I'd of paid more if she was better. The clothes don't fit, she has clothes? She needs genetilia, that's disgusting. It's a she, not a him.

Dan, Please don't tell us that the delay in V2 is because you are working on a copy protection scheme that requires her to phone home after we take her out on dates more than 3 times!!! This is a very big {;^)

So that everyone knows the Forum Moderators appear to be moving new messages about this topic over to the Complaint and Debate area. In particular CLSteve could you please go there and respond to some of what is posted there. --I am not objecting or challenging their right to do so I am simply informing so that others can know where to look.--
Thread: Need some help - unable to uninstall Poser 3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The lack of ability to uninstall P3 is another gift from the people we used to love at MC who are now at CL. Each time I find something on my computer from P3 I consider it to be just another turd left on my computer's hard drive by the people who love me so.

Here we go again! Every time one of these comes up I add to my list and contribute everything I have read on this topic. You never know when CL might actually be listening to us as opposed to dictating to us. I'm too tired to figure out if a particular suggestion is a 1 or a 2. By the way Phantast you have given my a few new ones to add! Allow a name change to a figure on the Current selected figure button. Better design and organize the current selected element pop-up display. Use submenus such as leg/right/thigh. Allow the current selected element to change based on arrow keys. Up/Down moves superior/inferior on body, Left/Right changes to the contralateral side. When you add clothes to a figure the clothes should integrate into the figure so that when I click in the foot region I don't get the shoe, I get the foot (which is what you actually move) Support for the right mouse button and scroll wheel on the PC. Just because Macs are antiquated doesn't mean the rest of us should suffer. Flexibility in the organization of the items on a Palette. Easier to setup and change Memory dots. File structure memory that remembers where you last saved or opened so you don't have to keep clicking to get to where you want to be. Allow you to default to where you want to save files. An easier way to transport .pz3 files. Perhaps an export button that will save all elements that will be required of the .pz3 when you try to load it and open it on another computer. Those little mouse popup windows that tell you the name of what it is you have the pointer on. Allow you to click on the title of the Parameter dial to change your currently selected element. A .pz3 (jpg) preview on the file open selection screen. Multiview (Come on, don't make people buy the Pro Pack just for that one feature) Auto resize of clothes to conform to the body. Save poses so that when you select a previously saved pose your figure is not moved all over the place. Use of correct names for body parts. This program accesses segments, not joints. It's called the upper arm, not the shoulder. A body selection button similar to the hand and face selection button. (I usually work with multiple figures and I wish to be able to easily go full screen on the one figure that I am focusing on. A better, less confusing file structure. I have no idea what I have and where it is at this point. Better detection (and prevention) of body breaking through clothes. Collision detection Faster escape from renders On a pose save providing a window that will allow you to specify what to save and then on save making those things not saved invisible
