I'll have to rely on you folks here for bugs. Right now I can't tell the difference between what the program can't do and what I can't. I'm learning though. Question: Is it possible to color map the trees? That is do seperate colors for the leaves and bark. Thanks, jJ

Bloodsong, I tried your suggestion and it worked like a charm. A LOT easier than what I was doing. Guess I was making it just too complicated. One thing I noticed about VUE3 so far. It has such fine detail that it is showing all the flaws in the texture maps that I have made. It will make a half way descent artist out of me yet. Later, jJ

Hmm...there seems to be more than one way to do this. The method I described works but it is rather time consuming. I'll try your suggestions. Oh, the other method I mentioned doesn't work very well. The objects aren't imported to the same area so it is really messed up. Thanks, jJ

Okay, I think I have it figured out. Here's my process: 1)In Poser, loaded up Vickie. Posed and added props and hair. 2) Saved as a new character for safe keeping. 3) Export the object file using default settings. 4) Use UV-Mapper and save flipped. No mtl library though. 5) In VUE3 load the object and apply the standard maps. 6) For the transparencies, do the trans/invert stuff. 7) Render it and see the pretty picture. 8) Pat myself on the back for being so damn brilliant 8-} I think I will try a different approach that I used in Bryce that worked pretty good. Export the main model with the ground attached and the same for the props. Then import each one and group them deleting the ground from each. This way I could work on each individual mesh for trans and texture. Anyways, thanks everyone for the help. Might figure this out yet. Oh, bloodsong, that option 'clip below first plane' doesn't seem to work. I just set up the scene and add the water plane last. Thanks, jJ

Okay, that may be my problem. I was using UV-Mapper and selected the transparent parts and did a CTRL-Y (I think that's it) that flipped them and then re-saved the model. I'll try something different and see what happens. Thanks, jJ

Thread: Looking for Komodo Dragon morph | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay, I found it - finally. It's at www.empken.com/poser.htm There are some some really nice textures and bird models there. He also has some models for sale that I'm considering. You see what happens is that every once in awhile, my brain gets a bubble that causes memory loss. Now this has been called other things but I won't go into that. Thanks, jJ

Yipee!!! I got Vue3 yesterday. Exactly 10 days after ordering it. Fast. Now the fun begins. I'm so used to the Bryce4 interface etc. that it's going to take awhile to get used to. Especially importing Poser objects/materials. Also, I got used to the preview window so I could see what I was doing. More later - back to having fun/learning. jJ

Thread: Victoria Head Seam guide (had do do it) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This will come in quite handy as I'm trying to convert some of the great P4 textures to Victoria and am having quite a time with seams. Mostly front-back hands-feet. I have gotten fairly good results but at closeup range, most of these seams aren't smooth enough. Brings me to another point. Anyone have any tips on getting the seams front/back for Victoria to match? Thanks, jJ

Thanks. I was thinking of buying a couple of her models but her section at bbay disappeared. I hope she puts all her stuff up here. jJ

Thanks for the reply and information. Just for the record: I've been using Bryce,Poser,3DMax, and other 3d apps for more years than I want to think about. Even dabbled a bit in programming. But, I've never posted on Renderosity before. I guess I fall into the category of "lurker". Hmm..that sort of sounds like somebody hiding in the bushes 8-). Most of the stuff I've done has either been for business or personal. Now that I'm out in the open though I may post some of my stuff. However, never having done so, I may need some assistance. So, what exactly is the procedure for that? jJ
